Let me know if you would like a video like this dedicated to dresses in a wheelchair? I love these kind of videos

As a tall woman that became a wheelchair user in adulthood, I’m still adjusting to the short jackets, sweaters and coats thing. I always looked for long, flowy outfits and now those are an actual safety hazard 😅 I miss dresses and long skirts. Also, tips for newer wheelchair users on finding comfortable high-waisted women’s pants, jackets that don’t get caught on your wheels etc would be great!

Gem I saw something recently that I'd love to hear your take on! They're faux sheer tights, but they have nude colored fleece on the inside to keep your legs warm. The nude leggings are also what gives it the sheer effect without actually showing anything. I've been told they're very comfortable too

we do have something we call a jumper in north america, but it's like an overall skirt or a dress that you have to wear a shirt underneath.

Yeah I bet it was tiring to film since I also get so exhausted both shopping and trying on lots of clothes. Definitely some inspiration. I'm not a wheelchair user but I am a spoonie lol and also have sensory needs. Clothes shopping has been easier for me since finding out I'm autistic since it's easier for me to accept and understand my sensory needs regarding clothing. The grey sweater with baubles is pretty cute but I could see myself getting annoyed with them as I don't think you could comfortably lounge or lay down with it on. I like those ribbed sweaters on you but know I would need to wear a size or few up since I don't like tight clothing. I am inspired by that white thing at the end and would get something like it if I ever saw one. I like layering up but I also get overheated very easily, it looks pretty breathable while still being cozy. You are right that we in North America call jumpers sweaters. Also trainers are sneakers, and vests are undershirts to us as well. What we call vests is a top - usually sweater or jacket-like with no sleeves that is worn over a shirt like a sweater. I wonder if that has its own UK term? I just find the different regional terms interesting :)

As a woman in a wheelchair I find shoes and hand bags to be the hardest to find. I need shoes that will fit orthotic braces and still look nice. I need handbags that have a cross body strap.
  • @liemdrake
You look really adorable especially in the black dress and the pink sweater and can you do another one where you're at IKEA?

Love, love, love! Thank you, im halfway through but you've inspired me to visit Asda (I'm not sure if you covered it in the video, but they've got a similar version of a lot of the M&S items, including the sparkly trousers!) You've got me excited for Panto & Xmas dressing up, especially as glitter/sequins are a total necessity for Winter! ❄️❤
  • @BCSchmerker
+Wheelsnoheels I've similar designs in Windsor neckties, see no need for a jumper consistent wi' the models shown this vid.
  • @ElicBehexan
I'm not in a wheelchair or anything. However, while I'm not overly restricted on being able to move, I don't like tight clothing and am sensitive to polyester. I can wear polyester blends so long as it is not the largest amount in the fabric. I do love those sequined pants, if I had the money (and they came in size 4X) I'd get them. However, like so many things, I have to pay my property taxes in January so I don't have a lot of money for too many things.

Wow Gem! You picked some great looking outfits there. So much variety, yet not one item looked bad on you. And of course, the model was gorgeous!
  • @fridab1952
Love the outfits! Everything looked good on you!
  • @AmykateB
Planning a trip to primark now ❤ love the idea of that last poncho for layering.
  • I got the red and black ones and they do feel good when you're in your wheelchair all day long. That pullover is pretty. Looks good on you. I need to find that jacket because coats and wheelchairs don't go well for me
  • @djet1_
Omg i struggle with temperature regulation, this mini poncho thing seems really good for that ! I'll try to find one affordable over here in France that looks a bit more gender neutral !
