Piastri is a revelation. He overtakes like a champion.

Russel with that masterclass strategy! Amazing call.

George Russel: “you guys are the best (team)” Team: gets him disqualified

The fact that spa was an interesting race despite no rain shows how close the teams have been lately
  • This race was classic F1. It was everything F1 is. Strategy calls, fights all the time, 5-6 people eyeing the win from the start. Anticipation from start to finish. Pure f1.

Piastri is really moving ahead with pace and tyre management. He was rapid.

Those last 10 laps were brilliant. Two separate three-way fights happening among the top runners, including the (then) podium finishers. I'm very impressed by Piastri's progress, too. I was expecting him to maybe reach his current form by next year (which would've already been impressive, since it would be only his third season), but it seems that he's already closed the gap to the other established frontrunners. Dude has a bright future ahead.

2:08 pit crew dude on the left looked like a bugged npc in games, no shadow and stuck on idle, kinda t-posing animation

3:59 cameraman also thought he was to install a wheelnut
  • This is the sort of F1 race I remember from when I was younger. A tense strategic game of cat and mouse, multiple teams racing each other and a winner not immediately known at the start. Not every race has to have crashes and loads of overtaking to be effective. I thoroughly enjoyed that GP.
  • Totos reaction said it all. he knew the car was underweight even before it came in.
  • At least Russell's DQ wasn't as dumb as the "using all the fuel we already limit you to carry" excuse for Vettel's DQ a few years ago
  • @wst9659
This was a fun race every top team racing with each other
  • The fact that Russel won the race with a one stopper and wasn't even in the Top 3 for Driver of the Day is the most Russel thing ever. Edit: And then be disqualified because of a minor mistake by his own team is the quintessential George experience ever.

If anybody doubted it, Piastri absolutely proved he's the real deal today. He shows so much maturity and race-craft already, he's got to be a future world champion if the cards play right for him.
  • That was the drive of the year from George Russell, what a performance edit: Real shame he is dsq, still a great drive

7 different winners so far this season in a sport where normally 1-2 teams dominate. That's amazing and exactly what the sport needed!
  • @GregzVR
That 1.5 KG 'advantage' was probably just enough to keep Russell ahead.
