Destiny 2 - What Happened to Raid Loot?

I forgot to mention great Vanity Items like rare ships, sparrows, ornaments, and top tier shaders that would drop from raids. But alas, Eververse has destroyed loot for items like those.

I played every raid with my friends and new people. Sometimes we'll pick up a random and if they didn't know how to do the raid we'll teach them the ropes. Man so many memories the glory days!!! The day I finally got gjallarhorn to finally drop.

The only raid with perk combos that were unique was scourge, so sad.

I actually like the mod system tbh. Really let’s you customize how you play. But I don’t like that people play raids for mods. They should be a bonus, not the main chase.

i do agree with you that there should be an exclusive perk inside of a raid but when it comes to weapons you have very similar weapons from D1 but called something else like fatebringer 2.0. there are many weapons which are good its just currently the archetypes of weapons from the raid aren't 600 rpm atuo rifles. the supremacy is a great crucible weapon as well as omniscient eye, nation of beats has a great curated stat and chattering bone/sacred provenience are great pulse rifle but these weapons are currently not meta in the current sandbox. in terms of armour there is many mods which effect each race like taken/fallen/hive armaments/invigoration/barrier/repurposing as well as other like the leviathan effecting ones or the dreaming city effects. and on top of the ,mods EXCLUSIVE to the raids the armour also come as a high roll in the 60s-70s (excluding the free chests) TLDR: the guns are similar to D1 with similar perks but most aren't meta currently (although they should have exclusive perks) and armour has exclusive mods which help a lot anywhere but especially in high end nightfalls, raids and dungeons.

Finally someone brought it up lol In d1 you grinded to get to the raid and get great loot. In d2 you don’t even have to bother, because 90% of the raid loot is awful or overshadowed by weapons outside of the activity. It no longer feels like the “pinnacle” activity and just something there for the hardcore. There’s no point if the loot is terrible

I feel like you make good points about things d1 did better than d2, most of the time anyways, but then it always devolves into a ”destiny 2 bad, destiny 1 good”- circlejerk lmao

Easiest fix for this, make raid loot the best loot obtainable.

I like the armour 2.0 system but I agree with the raid mods, not only should they be intrinsic perks on the armour but they should actually be useful in the raid. In Garden of salvation the only useful raid mod is relay defender and having intrinsic perks would not only incentivise wearing raid armour in the raid, but it will also not force you to waste armour energy

Chattering Bone is my favorite pulse rifle and I’ve been using it since Forsaken. Probably the only raid weapon I love in D2 and I got it without actually playing the Last Wish raid.

Raid legendaries? Worse Raid armor cosmetic? Comparing default looks, they look about the same (besides EoW and SoS, maybe Garden aswell) Exotics? Far better, like way better

Confused ngl, supremacy, omniscient eye, chattering bone, nation of beasts, tyranny of heaven and accrued redemption are some of the best of there type of weapon, post sunset at least.

Sacred provenance, omniscient eye, ancient gospel, prophet of doom, nation of beasts, chattering bone and supremacy are all top tier raid weapons (from the raids that are relevant). I get that there’s no raid specific perk or anything but these weapons are good enough on there own. I’d like the return of the WoTM perk system because that was really unique and effective, Armor is no comparison tho

I think part of this includes Bungie’s need to appeal to casual players. If all of the good weapons were in raids, casuals would complain.

I’m really glad this is actually finally getting addressed by bungie cause now raid loot from Deep stone crypt and the reprised VOG is actually worth getting and some of the best weapons in the game are there

The only raid legendary I actually use regularly is Reckless Oracle, that thing is a beast.

They made destiny 2 way to complicated. The best Destiny's ever been was the rise of iron days.

I played Destiny 1 from year 1 till year 3 and did everything and loved doing the Raids weekly to get all the armor sets and weapons cause not only did they look cool they were strong and had good perks. I started Destiny 2 about 2 months ago when I saw it was free and I gotta say I had no motivation to play anything high end more then once cause the armor and weapons didn’t wow me at all so instead of the armor or weapons be the motivation of grinding I decided to try and platinum the game which I did in less then a month. I did all the Raids and after the first clear of each I saw no motivation to start it again unless it was to help a friend or maybe cause of a weapon quest like Divinity where I had to do Garden Of Salvation again. But there are just no cool weapons or armor in Raids like it was in D1
