CMF, a budget brand of Nothing, is here with their new CMF Buds Pro 2! Sure, they only sell "pro" earbuds, but why have non-pro earbuds if you have the skills to make professional TWS earbuds? James is here to see if there's really any reason to spend more than $60 on your next auditory listening devices.

CORRECTION: We used the Nothing Phone (2a) instead of the usual phone we keep on set and didn't realize that the mic test was using the phone's microphone instead of the earbud's microphone. We've uploaded a better mic test here and removed the original one from the video: youtube.com/shorts/TxBlqX1nsV4 Sorry for the confusion! We'll make sure this doesn't happen in future videos. - Bell

what's crazy about CMF is that i want it more than nothing's offerings, even though it's their "budget" products
  • @BrokenArrowX
The mic sounds crazy good compared to other earbuds damn
  • @reluttr2
Google assistant not making a ding sound when you activate it via buds is actually a months long bug/issue from google themselves. Weirdly it seems to be a design decision they made because whenever a workaround is found google pushes out a update to break the chime. Its like this with most phones and earbud combinations.

Companies stopped including the brick just as C-to-C was becoming popular, so most people are probably still rocking their old A charging bricks. If I were releasing a product right now, I'd probably consider including both A-to-C and C-to-C or a C-to-C with an A-C adapter on one end.

I also got mine yesterday. And overall they are definitely really good, but yeah the default tuning is crazy. I know a lot of people like bass, but that was too much. Setting everything to 0 honestly sounds the best.
  • @Artiick
For the price point at which they're at (60 bucks for context), these are truly some great lil true wireless ear buds. Besides the over the top bass tuning with default EQ (which yes it's definetly way too much), they're a solid pair of earbuds.

Kinda strange how Nothing came out of nowhere and are making banger devices

0:37 Thank you, To be clear I have been looking for a smart watch for years that hits all the points I wanted and I ended up buying the CMF watch you featured and I am very happy with it. In that video it was mentioned it not being C to C was, "Outdated", could be a way to put it. I feel like most people have UBS A ports at hand and maaaaybe the thoughts of C to C are reletaed to your closness to upgraded tech.
  • @andreewert6576
The power of USB-C is that you basically only need one cable, and most people probably have one at this point. The short A-to-C in the box is for those who don't have USB-C everything yet.

Incredible that they have been able to provide LDAC codec at this pricepoint.

60 bucks? Man, my LG Tone Free just died (left earbud literally fell apart when I went to see why it wasn't working) and I'm in the market.
  • @AhmadHasanSux
My absolute favorite guy on this channel by far! Informative, straight to the point, funny AND makes great sound effects with his mouth
  • I've been thinking about getting these and the video really helps by showing the pros and cons.
  • @kindofanmol
Nothing and CMF are onto something and I'm so here for it!
  • @smashed_penguin
Labs needs to standardise "The Famous James Shake Test" We need a contraption that James gets strapped into and shaken about with consistent repeatability!
  • @alanthropist
Been using the CMF buds which have the same build as the CMF buds pro 2, pretty happy with it
  • @yamigekusu
I have the CMF pro 1s and they're super nice! I get to listen to music while I'm wearing my hat. Plus, they're the only earbuds I feel comfortable using
