Remember I don't hate GameStop. Just strongly disagree with some of their practices. This would be some of the worst things, you as a customer will have to deal with. Or at least things you should be cautious about. GameStop is a business and the bottom line is their main concern. They just make it hard to want to shop at their stores when they constantly do shady things.

I had a manager try to embarrass me because I wouldn't give my "trade in" money to the charity they had going at that time. Very unprofessional.

My husband pre-ordered an Assassin's Creed game, a while ago, and it was supposed to come with a replica of Ezio's wrist blade and gauntlet. My husband was SO excited about getting that thing, and it was the ONLY reason we pre-ordered. On the game's release day, we showed up to pick up the items, and the manager told us they were all gone. He told us that we should have come earlier in the day. I lost my mind and started yelling. We had paid for the items, and now we were told we couldn't have them, because we weren't waiting in line when the store opened?! After about 15 minutes of arguing, the manager said they DID have one in the back, but they were holding onto it. He told us that they were holding it because they had promised it to a disabled veteran. This was the weirdest guilt trip ever, and made me even angrier. MY HUSBAND IS ALSO A DISABLED VET. I made them give us the item, and they all did thier best to make us feel weird and guilty about it... wtf. We will never go back. That was the worst experience I have had with a retail outlet in a very long time. EDIT: adding this to avoid repeating the same response over and over.. The disabled vet they were describing was NOT my husband. There is absolutely NO chance it was being held for my husband. The manager was holding it for a "friend" that had "just returned home". My husband served in the Gulf War and has been out of the military for a long time. My husband had NOT told them that he was a disabled vet, and they had no way of knowing that he was. They were shocked when I told him he was. The "vet" they were holding it for had NOT pre-ordered, because he supposedly overseas. My husband DID pre-order. They were describing a completely different person. Even if they were psychic and magically knew my husband was a disabled vet without us telling them, wouldn't they have gotten it when they pulled up our account and saw our names? I do not know if this "disabled vet" existed, but the way they treated us with guilt and shame was unforgivable.

Me: Buys a game card. Employee: "Just come back if there's any issues with the code." Me: "Okay, thank you." Scratch the back code cover off Enters in code System: "Somebody has already used this code." Had all that recorded in case of these situations Me: Comes back "The card you gave me didn't work. It said someone already used it." Shows video evidence Same Employee: "Uh, if you already scratched the back off, you can't get a refund or a new one. Sorry." Me: ". . .Bitch, how can I find an issue without scratching the back off. . .and use it? I never buy game cards from them again.

  • I went to gamestop to sell a cure to all diseases and problems and they gave me $7.28
  • @DarKKnightt07
From personal experience 1. They actually sell pre owned games that don't work at all 2. They give you little to almost nothing for your trade in games 3. They take forever ringing customers up.
  • @JoseLara-sk8ij
Why is nobody reporting gamestop for producing copies of games? They could go out of business for this...
  • @johnjohn8001
who remembers when Gamestop was still Funcoland
  • So I bought Pokemon Black 2 for my younger cousin because he likes to collect those older Pokemon games for some reason and it was like $38.00. I didn't really question it, but the guy said it was new. He told me he went to start a new game and found that it already had a save file. I was like "damn, I got swindled..."
  • @links5957
for everybody, DON'T Sell your GAMES at Gamestop. keep them, worth more for you spending a lot money then selling to gamestop. I regret to this day why I sold my gamecube games.
