Good stuff and thanks for sharing. All the best guys and take care.

A little grease on the cocking ramp is also a good idea and makes the bolt open smoother :-)
-
Thank You ,You saved me a trip to my gunsmith JB

Use protective glasses when you use the spray. If it gets in your eyes it burns. Trust me eye know. :p
-
Is there a specific name for the tool used to remove the firing pin?
-
Hi ✋🏻 what is the best replacement of the grease ?!
-
What is the name of that tool you used to “unlock” the bolt? That’s pretty slick if you ask me
-
What is that first tool that was used?
-
What tool did he use?
-
What kind of grease would you recommend?
-

Very useful! Now I'm off to clean the bolt of my rifle :-)

Disclaimer: most all bolts on a bolt action rifles do not, do not need to come apart ever for cleaning; Yes! I repeated myself. Naphtha and a lite mineral oil are all you will ever need. There are casualties of combustion in a bolt action rifle and not one of them are in the bolt – at all; not even a Tee-Nighty.

I use 308 Tulammo on a Ruger American. Approximately how often should I clean my bolt?
-
Well this debunks everyone saying not to spray my bolt.
-
The bolt is not entirely cleaned! A complete clean "inside out" requires the removal of the extractor and plunger as well!
