⚡Show Notes & Resources ⚡

Warm compresses are often recommended as a dry eye treatment early on for the management of evaporative dry eye disease, often as a result of Meibomian gland dysfunction. Warm compresses (also known as hot compresses) are used to melt rancid, solidified oils trapped in the eyelids. This allows for the oils to run smoothly out of the oil glands and allow for new oils to be produced.

The Tear Restore is a newly designed hot compress for dry eyes. It features a warming eye pack that allows for the users eyes to remain open during the treatment process. The main advantage the Tear Restore offers as a warm compress is the convenience of doing a hot compress while still being able to see and stay productive.

Another benefit of this type of warm compress is that because the eyelids are open, it allows for blinking action to help pump the solidified oils out of the Meibomian glands.

⭐Helpful Tips 👀
Warm compresses work best by
-Providing constant heat
-Do them for at LEAST 10 minutes at a time
-Repeat at least daily for dry eye symptoms or as often as prescribed by your eye doctor.

PRO TIP Gentle massage over the eyelids will help push melted oils out of the blocked Meibomian glands & allow them to produce new oils.

Thanks. I’ve been thinking of trying this one out. I’m currently using the Manta. I have punctal plugs. My eyes have been so dry ever since I had bilateral facial nerve compression during a surgery a few years ago. Compresses are life.
  • @krissy789
I love this for traveling- great for using in hotels! The teapot travels well too. At home, I use my Manta- I like the microwaveable Manta- it has beads like the Optase, but is not actually compressing on the eye and I so appreciate that. Please review the Manta heated and cooling mask!!
  • @Mrktlarsen
I like this option because having pressure on my actual eyeballs makes me nervous. Also, this is the best Green Hornet review ever :)
  • Ordered! Thank you for including a link! If it makes me feel like a middle aged super hero then so much the better!!

  • @iseeflowers
I was always wondering what are that white spots inside the eyelids. Glad I found your channel and learned that .
  • I do warm eye compress for awhile, then I get sick of heating it up, it gets cold too soon, generally a pain, so I stop it until I watch something like your video and remember how important it is for my MGD. So now I’ll start it up again.
  • @hotdog3618
Thanks for the information! Does this mask produce dry or moist heat? Also, in your experience, does it seem to be as effective as a microwavable compress like the Bruder?
  • Thanks for your updates and info, you are fantastic!!!💜💜🧡🧡💙💙💚💚💕💕👍👍😳😳😳
  • @JohannnesBrahms
I have been doing warm compresses for years and have found that the moist heat compress is more effective and doesn't dry out the delicate skin around the eyes. And as for the supposed advantage of being able to see at the same time you do the compress, why not just meditate or listen to some music with your eyes closed for the time required. Sooth the mind as well as your eyelids.
  • @supreeti1700
Wow that's a nice thing to use👍btw i'm an optometrist in India, just passed out😁and I really find your videos very useful and easy to understand each and everything So thank you so much sir..
  • I could totally rock that for my superhero alter ego, and help my eyes!
  • @tayyabshamas209
It is one of the best channels for eye health. So much useful information is there about eye health. Dr allen u have elaborated lasik in one of your video extensively. Beside lasik i m also considering prk as one of the option for my surgery. Can u plz make a video on prk. I can wait for healing process but it should be 100 percent healing as in lasik the flap can fall out as stated in one of your video. Request for your consideration plz.
  • Thanks a lot doctor, your videos are awesome! I wanted to get ur suggestion please, I have -4.0 myopia in both eyes and I’m frustrated with glasses. But I even have Floaters in both my eyes, so is it safe for me to go for LASIK? Or what’s the better option? Thanks
  • @shortclips9623
Thanks doctor. The product look very interesting but seem very pricey. Would you recommend the RENPHO EYE MASSAGER ? Is it safe for the eye? I been using for a month. Thanks u
  • Using Bruder for about 4 weeks now; it's helpful and I've cut back on eye drops by 3/4. I MAKE THE TIME FOR MY EYE MASK TWICE A DAY BECAUSE I'VE HAD EXTREME DRY EYES FOR OVER 20 YEARS. Restasis was a non starter.
  • @Nain617
I love Superheros !! Don't mind looking like one . This makes sense I'd like to open my eyes .Thanks for this .
