  • I love Doug presenting rear-view mirror screens like a brand new feature in every car review for the last two years!
  • I would love to see Doug do a comparison on some vehicles between the highest trim & the mainstream or base trim level. I’m sure it would be logistically challenging, but I think it would make for interesting content on this kid of vehicle or full size trucks where there’s a large delta between the regular person trim & the highest.

11:50 is exactly why I hate piano black plastics and screens everywhere in cars. All of those scratches and fingerprints just ruin the look, and I don't want to be wiping the screens down every time someone uses them

When the battery is “depleted”, all of that 375HP is still available - a portion of the battery is reserved to run as a hybrid even when the battery for electric mode reads “<1%”. It maintains a charge through regenerative braking and through the idle of the engine so that full power is available when you put your foot into it (assuming similar function to the Wrangler 4xe, that is)
  • Have ‘21 wrangler 4xe and love it. Secret to getting great fuel economy (specifically at speeds 40+) is running in E-Save mode with battery in reserve. You’ll get 4-6 MPG better than rated. We’re currently getting 27 MPG using electric mode primarily under 40 MPH and e-save over 40 MPH
  • Love you Doug, but that's not how PHEV works! You don't lose the electric motor's power when the battery "runs out" because it has not actually ran out. The range they quote is referring to fully electric driving, so once you run out of electric only range, the vehicle simply turns into a regular hybrid with the same amount of power.
  • 1) SOOOOOOO glad to see a spare tire back there! not 100% sure if full size, but at least decently sized 2) also glad to see whoever put the spare together, lined up the dots like they're supposed to. What I'd really love to do, is be able to rent one for a couple days, and see how it would do towing what I occasionally tow with my Jeep Liberty.

The first thing any reviewer should say about this vehicle is that it's been about a year since Jeep announced the GC 4xe's imminent arrival, yet so far Jeep has managed to build virtually none for actual customers. They're now gearing up for the 2023 4xe while the promised 2022 MY is still basically an empty garage. It's weird to see reviewers pretend that anyone can just go out and buy this car right now. We all sympathize about the supply chain problems, but a conscientious reviewer should be very careful about endorsing vaporware, if that's what a car still is.
  • Remember when Jeep tried to go Diesel with the gen 1 liberty... Pepperidge Farm remembers
  • this guy seems like a good guy he should start a car bidding site

Just got a 23 GC Overland 4XE. This is my 4th GC. The new Gen is wonderful. I am so impressed with the ride and comfort. I leased mine for 24 months, wanted to make sure I like this concept, if good, I will get another one, by lease end. I ride around 80 MPH on a HWY commute to work, daily. You don't feel or hear anything and when my music is on with the 19 speakers around you, oooooooooo my, ooooo my. You ride in a concert. Good job JEEP.

The fact that the Dodge/Chrysler/Jeep group haven't figured out how to make reliable modern gasoline powered vehicles and are going to sell electric ones now is interesting... Beautiful car but let's see if their quality control department has gotten it's act together.
  • I’m a month into my 4XE and love it. It’s very luxurious and very spry. The 7500.00 tax rebate was nice too.
  • As a Volvo XC90 T8 PHEV owner, I expected to watch this and gloat. But dang, that's pretty nice. I will say that the XC90 also will kick on the gas engine if you floor it in electric mode, and the transition from electric to gas isn't the most smooth all the time. If these concern you, don't worry, PHEVs are great and it really won't be much of a bother. So glad to see more PHEVs on the market!!!

Drove a new Grand Cherokee the other day (not the 4xe), and I have to say it’s crazy how nice they’ve become. Everything feels heavy and solid and not all plastic like the previous GCs.
  • I hope your channel stays forever ! I really liked Saabkyles videos back then but he doesnt do car reviews anymore.
  • A shockingly compelling package from Jeep, and no dumb mistakes like so many other brands are making. Impressive!
  • I have owned jeeps for many years and they keep getting better. The only Jeep disaster was my 2001 GC. It was at the dealer many times. Other than that, I have had fantastic experiences with the brand. Looking to get the Grand Wagoneer fully loaded. I hear good things about the hurricane engine but I love my Hemi.
  • Doug, wrong on the car ever not having full power. Even when electric range is depleted, it still has all 370hp. I think you can force gas only using the esave button, but other than that will never be down on power. Also, bring back long form doug score
  • @aevege
After a year of owning a Wrangler 4xe the powertrain is nothing short of fantastic. We have a tesla fast charger installed, and are experienced in optimizing battery range, and routinely get 1000-1500 miles (5-8 weeks for us) of city driving out of a single tank of gas. We enjoy the off roading and open air of the Wrangler, but putting the same power in a more comfortable and practical package is a fantastic idea and is bound to be as near-perfect as Doug says. Jeep has been nailing it!
