This is why you rent a UHaul and have some friends help you move with some pizza

Heavy stuff charge? I mean, who hires a moving company to take loose change, keys and a pillow ?
  • In North Carolina we have a company made of addicts in recovery, those guys do the best work and never overcharge, and they are some of the nicest people you will ever meet, and when my five year old asked about one guys tattoos the guy smiled and explained them, overall great company

They literally say do your homework and check reviews online, while on the previous video I saw about locksmiths they show that it's easy to falsify reviews online.

Movers: "There's a Charge for stairs". Me: "OK, well sorry. We'll use another company. Get out of my house."
  • @philrichjr
Only time I’ve ever been charged for stairs is from moving a piano... which is very understandable

"We won't pay them" "Maybe WE should sue" "We pay the entire bill" What I dislike about marketplace is they don't take action against these companies. I appreciate the investigation and awareness it spreads, but in the end it really just encourages the scammers even more...
  • Years ago I used a mover. They quoted me a price. When they showed up at my new house, they quadrupled the price and refused to unload my stuff unless I paid. I tried to call their office and no one ever picked up. Learned my lesson the hard way unfortunately.

I love these CBC News investigation pieces. I'm from the US, but love how they uncover fraud and wish there were more of these done

  • @estebanjr11
Lol I just gave my buddies some pizza and beer than they helped me move my stuff to my new house
  • Dishonest business: exists Markertplace: "I'm about to end this man's whole career"
  • this was perfect, love marketplace for exposing these scammers. I'm moving soon and I hope I've done enough research to avoid these experiences

This is why my family depends on each other and friends to help
  • @dg9675
Not sure about you guys but I would kick them out of my house as soon as they mentioned the extra charges
  • @jessicabrown709
You paid them?? Why would pay them?? You had everything on record, how they lied, how they hit you with hidden charges, everything, I would take them to court!!

my dad works on a move company and he uses uniform, wraps things, but everything with ramps, and takes a LOT of care cause he knows he has to pay all of that. He is his own boss and follow the rules!
  • I worked for moving companies for almost 10 years and we never had complaints however we have heard horror stories about peoples past experiences
