This happened to our family when I was in 4th grade. The cost was almost double the quote. My parents could not afford the new cost. Then the company charged crazy interest for every day they could not pay. Eventually the moving company auctioned off our stuff to pay the bill. We lost everything. All we had left is what we had in the car when we drove across country. Pictures, family momentos, all gone. My parent asked if they could pay a partial amount to reclaim photos and such that were worth nothing at auction but were priceless to us. They refused. This is not just an issue of money. The emotional impact stayed with my siblings and I our whole lives. Our only photos of our parents wedding or our baby pictures are ones that extended family members shared with us. I am 45 and to this day, anything of emotional value travels in my car with me when moving. These companies need to be held accountable for this scam.

I hope that the lady with the two children does sue and holds them accountable and then repays everyone who helped her, which would be the fair thing

I just have a rule for myself, I never go for the absolutely cheapest offer. There's always something fishy about the company if they can charge so much less then the other companies.
  • He said the magic sentence. “Trust me”. That is an immediate sign NOT to trust them

Elena and Murat are still at it, it appears they started up some new companies though. The excel and PDF documents from the following companies all say the authors are from Troy Transportation: Alliance Van Lines, Atlanntis Van Lines, Canadian National Van Lines and Canadas Leading Van Lines. They are using these 4 companies as well as Atlantic Van Lines and Canadian Moving Systems that are referenced in the video. When I got quotes online 5 of these companies submitted bids to me and they were very close. I had no idea they were related at the time.

you can avoid this scam. insist to be present for empty weight then follow the loaded truck to same scale for the loaded weight.

But I don''t understand why they cannot be arrested and charged for fraud!! I never trust anybody who says trust me! When they are conning you!
  • @patrickdaly2121
“It’s a mistake an error” sure mate it’s an error. Always an error that gets you more money and the customer an empty pocket.

I feel fortunate that my dad has a big trailer and a pickup truck that he used to help me move when we bought a house last year. we were moving only one town over, and my parents let us store all our things in their garage until moving day. My dad's "price" for all that was that we BBQ him up something tasty before the move, which we did. made a family gathering out of it. it was great.
