  • I agree, your pantry makes sense to me too. It's nice when you get to the point that you don't care so much what others think. If you like it that's what matters!
  • @anitas5817
I absolutely love what you said about getting older, not caring what other people think and letting go of the fantasy version of yourself. It’s so true!! I leave most things in original packaging- I can’t do that “containers for everything” method either. I have containers for flour, sugar, cereal but otherwise just have everything nicely organized with things grouped, like a cabinet for baking, a large spice rack, etc.

Love this! I think we get so caught up in aesthetics that we lose out on function. I see so many pantry makeovers that have a certain "look" and everything is matching, but it's not frugal or functional. I will take frugal function over aesthetics any day! Be a rebel. Your house, your rules! 😁
  • @jesaenza69
This pantry organization makes more sense than any single one I’ve ever seen before. Great job good ma’am !!
  • @sewistnotsewer
I appreciate how real you are. I, too, struggle with pantry organization - and I'm an empty nester! 😂 You'll be shocked how, when the kids are grown and gone, they can so easily find your snacks when they come home to visit. 💕

Finally a woman I can relate with! I love to bake and cook and my pantry will never look pinterest worthy. I'm only 32 with 5 kids and I agree, the older we get the less we care what others think. Although I am jealous of your pantry. I don't have one, we use book shelves for our pantry. Thanks for being honest and sharing!
  • @rosesaqt
You said you have to be able to see everything, but you don't want to see everything. I'M THE SAME WAY!!! I can't stand the clutter of being able to see everything, but if I can't see everything, I forget what I have. You are wonderful. Thank you for sharing. I had also started to organize my pantry into category bins, when I came across your video. It's nice to know I'm not the only one that has to have things like that. Big hugs.
  • Regarding husbands and kids not being able to find stuff, I've decided that unless it reaches out and grabs them, they literally WILL NOT see it. It's both maddening and humorous.

My Pyrex loaf pan is one of the open bins in my pantry. I use it for envelopes of seasonings, vacuum-packed olives, gravy packets and seeds that I plan to sprout. Once or twice a year I dump the packets into a mixing bowl while I use the pan and put the packets back when the pan is clean and dry.
  • @dawngrover2410
I have generic labels like “pasta” “cereal” for majority of my storage containers so I can mix and match the products instead of being very specific to what I store. It works!
  • Your system makes so much more sense to me. You will break the budget buying storage containers for every item. Thank you for the ideas!
  • @cathyc.8274
My pantry style is “coffee cans and black magic marker”. It keeps critters out. I save jars for nuts and things. My Kailua cookie tin has been flour for 30 years!
  • @madzabinga8382
Your pantry is enormous! So jealous. I don't even have a pantry in my house. I have to fit everything in my kitchen cupboards. It looks great and makes sense.
  • I just redid my pantry yesterday and discarded a bunch of the clear containers that were not working. I also LOVE those large bins from Walmart and use them ALL over my house from my upright freezer, the garage, my craft room - they are so versatile!!!!
  • I love “I gave up my fantasy person”…. I am getting ready to turn 50 in 2 months and I am enjoying myself more and more as a person because as long as I am ok with something it makes me “wildly happy”!!!
  • @kathiedavis3312
I love the basket system! I went to Goodwill and bought storage baskets . They were super inexpensive and like new and they work great!! I look every time I go to Goodwill and have continued you find super nice baskets and everything is organized .Another great thing to do that lessens your Footprint in the environment. Buy 9x13 pans at Goodwill instead of using the throw away aluminum ones . You can get them for super cheap and they always have them to buy. And they’re reusable and store casseroles in the freezer great. Take them out pop in oven and reuse.
  • @reneea7811
"Is this Pinterest worthy? No. And you know what's great? I don't care." YES SISTER! That's been my pantry mantra too!!!!! Do what actually works for you!
  • I love it it's REAL. Unless you full time work at organizing that it's going to look a bit messy and it is ever changing!
  • @kimbristol4814
Glad you posted about the small cricut machine. I was wondering about how they perform. Good review…and nice gift from Santa
  • Christine, just when I don't think you could impress me any more with your common sensibility, here you go again! I am loosely doing this currently - organizing stuff by group - baking, b-fast, etc. No room for the big bin yet, though i envisioned that. :) Always a joy to watch!
