In this video, I take a still river side in Phnom Penh in the country of Cambodia, a country which has adopted the American USD as their currency. You'll get to see the weird way this is traded and change is given. We also check out the local vendors and take part in a number of Chinese rituals.

Friendliest people i have ever met were cambodians. Very humble people from a brutalist history. If you get to batambang go to the killing caves, if younare in PP go to "the highschool" and the killing fields. I got blind drunk with a tuk tuk driver at his place. Ended up peeling about 50kg of cucumbers with him and his family. Amazing memories

You're either very rich or very poor here and there is no middle class. Again, be mindful of your surroundings and be kind whenever possible. Enjoy your trip and stay safe. Happy travels from a genocide survivor there!

My entire life spent in Cambodia, many rude riches turns out to be young adult that got spoiled by their parents. Iโve met a few humble nobles but theyโre tend to be in their 40s to 50s. But yes, people who are in the middle class and lower class tend to help others and thatโs because we value the sense of community.

In America they say crime is from desperation and poverty, and the government throws money at the problem with no results. . The people of the Philippines and Cambodia prove this wrong. Iโve met some really poor people that would never steal anything I leave laying around. When they have only a little rice they offer to share it out of kindness. Crime has nothing to do with economic disparity. It has to do with values and morals people are taught when growing up.

Those people in rich communities don't want people to know how corrupt they are..they always use their poor to do things they wouldn't do..take advantage and mistreat them

Mr Marco... I really appreciate your video about the natural life in Cambodia. Many Vloggers who record discovery trips around Southeast Asia, you do it in a much better way. Jonas from Sweden living in Rayong Thailand

That's one of the things typical Cambodian. When they give you something, they don't want you to pay for it. Unlike the west where we buy our own foods or drinks, Cambodians would pay when they invite you. Giving money can offend them. We're used to pay for our own foods or drinks. Cambodians are different.

I've been watching tons of videos on Cambodia recently as I am headed back there in January of 2024. This has been one of my favorites! Thank you!

Mate, loving the vids. I really need to get off my ass and go check out some of these places before I get to old, I'm already 54 ๐ฌ I never been into the traditional holidays, more want to see the real places and how people really live and your videos definitely show that. I've travelled all around Australia plenty of times but that's getting to expensive. Yep Cambodia is gonna be added to my bucket list. Thanks mate.

Another excellent episode Marco. You're getting good at this you're a natural. Keep them coming mate ๐

Yes, Marco. Poor Cambodian are much nicer than the Rich ones. I'm glad you discovered that. ๐Thanks for sharing the reality of Cambodian daily situation.

Great content Marco. Love it.

I used to live in Peng Huoth and hated it. It is full of rich snobs and young spoiled brats racing their luxury cars up and down the roads as late as 1 or 2 a.m. and having parties all hours of the night because they don't need to go to work in the morning like some of us. On top of that, the area, outside of all the greenery, is quite boring, except for Euro Park. Each business in the area is built into the same identical looking shophouse, and the interior is pretty much exactly the same in each one. My partner and I loved the greenery there, but not much else.

No problem! ๐๐ค Love the 40 minute vid... Awesome, as usual ๐

This is the hidden reality of Cambodia that no politicians want to acknowledge to the world. โ

29:20 The Chinese is fantastic at raising structures fast and cheap. If you want the structures to last, you paint it with Jotun. Jotun is a Norwegian company that manufacture paints and coatings in some 40 countries. Greetings from Norway.
