Special shout out to all of my patrons who make these videos possible.

"The Sound of Silence" was originally recorded and released by Simon and Garfunkel in 1964. It was promptly ignored by mainstream radio until it became an unlikely hit in Florida of all places. The tune has been covered by all manner of artists but probably most notably by Disturbed, and now um... by me (wink wink, nudge nudge). Hugs, Y'all!

Simon & Garfunkel - A polite warning. Disturbed - Fury and grief over a warning ignored. Pentatonix - New hope, resistance, a rebellion. Geoff Castellucci - At the wake, after the fight.

Fan theory: Geoff doesn't need a fan to blow his hair. His hair moves itself on his soundwaves out of respect for his voice.
  • @rubievale
I'm a bass, and I can comfortably hit a D2, and if I'm lucky, a C2, but this is something else altogether. It's a remarkable thing to listen to someone with such control and depth.

I had one of a number of surgeries I will need to beat stage four cancer three days ago. Tonight I lay in the recovery bed listening to your songs in a Playlist and the depth and richness of your voice carry a magic with them. They don't make the pain go away, but they push it aside. I listen to you sing and I don't care that the other stuff hurts. So thank you from the bottom of my heart from a random stranger who just found you and likely won't be around to enjoy your future projects. On this day you've worked magic.
  • @Huskerman1995
His range is just sick. He can rumble your soul with his low notes and his high notes ring clear as a bell. Unreal.
  • @Gretchen_G
This is a whole emotional journey. There's a wistful sort of sadness at the beginning that's just achingly beautiful. Then a burst of fierce triumph from rockstar Geoff. And then quiet, measured, and meditative at the end. Really brilliant.

Anybody else feeling his voice in your chest? My nephew told me about Geoff and he is good!
  • @adambryant2876
And he can play the piano too?!? Just when I thought he couldn't get any more awesome!
  • @jaycefoster7285
Am I the only one who wants to hear this man sing total eclipse of the heart with that deep of a voice?
  • @lillepuncky
The fact that he has such control of his voice is incredible, combining that with his ability to involve such deep emotions in songs. He's a talent that is such a rarity these days, and i really hope that he continues to utilize his talents.
  • I love his voice, it's like velvet! He is multi-talented, expressive, and obviously works hard, honing his natural talent.
  • @KlinIrina
Песни в исполнении Джеффа, как наркотик. Ты подсаживаешься на его шикарный бас с первого раза и каждый день хочется новой дозы. Спасибо, Джефф!❤❤❤

While it would've been quite in keeping with Geoff's sense of humor for this to have been 3 minutes of silence, I am so very happy that he gave us this masterpiece instead. Thank you, Geoff, from a proud and pleased-as-punch (but clearly old-as-dirt, because who even says that anymore?!) patron from Florida.
  • The Sound of Silence was never this beautifully bleak. This one is just SO unique and different. Unlike anything we've heard from this song and from you, Geoff. The video is so intersting, I love the dynamic shots and the dynamic lighting. I'm really curious to see how this one will do out in the wild. I really enjoy this one. I love the quality of your voice in this, and the variety you demonstrate. Thank you for always upping your game, with every single project and thing you do. This proud patron greatly appreciates it. to those scrolling, if you dare listen to this without headphones, what are you even doing?
  • @timberwolf5631
Geoff, THANK YOU for this. Your voice has a timbre of a father soothing his children during a thunder storm. Resonances of this caliber are felt deep in my chest, and slide around in my mind like warm butter. Absolutely beautiful.
  • @user-cx4ul1br9b
Best rendition of this song. I could listen to it all night. My dear, you have made a 79 year old grandmother have chills. Hard to accomplish that! Please keep making beautiful music.
  • @M-ikaela
never have I heard anyone sing so clearly in such low notes. Your voice is just incredible
  • @kls8469
With Layne at the camera and Eli at the lights, nice to see even Geoff's solo ventures are still a VoicePlay thing !

As a fellow bass singer I love that he gives props to his sound crew and equipment. Acapella/acoustic is not kind to bassists without amplification.
