  • Legend has it that one day he will show his hair
  • No useless and distracting background music, no inartful attempts at humor, simply professional advice well delivered and demonstrated. I wish other similar videos would emulate this. Thank you.

What I loved the most is that your explanation is so clear that I can apply this in Premiere Pro easily :)
  • 10:42 - "That is way to aggressive prism blur on the background, I don't want it to be noticeable." - this is key! You can't notice it, but you can feel it.

This may not be ground breaking, but as someone starting out on the editing journey the final before and after cuts made me actually say WOW. Video editing is truly an artform.
  • Daniel you’re national treasure, your perfectionism shows in your shots. I truly admire your work, keep it up man.
  • Daniel: People aren't gonna have their minds blown. My mind: Blown.
  • As a filmmaker myself, I get discouraged by the prices of all the equipment... however I love how Daniel makes commercials in his house with a very very minimal budget! This motivates me to keep going!
  • 5:42 - "Linear, smooth and linear" - Never heard of this technique, it's just genius!
  • I watch a lot of camera and editing related content and very rarely as a result do I now come across any hints, tips and tricks that I haven’t already heard and seen before. However in the past 12 minutes I’ve just picked up more learnings than I have in probably the last 3 years. Stuff like this is golden, and is more valuable to people than you’re probably aware of. Already implemented the prism thing in a job today, (always previously tried creating similar effect with masks, layers and gaussian blur, but could never quite nail the desired result. Tried this today, half the workflow, twice the gains. A very sincere THANK-YOU!!!
  • "This is basic stuff. Nobody will be blown by this" ME: DROOLS
  • Wow this is awesome, you're right each individual step is pretty simple but all together they make such a huge difference!
  • This is one of those YouTube videos that reminds you why you love this platform in the first place. Extremely well made. Very clear instructions. To the point. I mean wow. Just wow. Cant begin to say how impressed I am with this.
  • @MTBdropIN
im sorry you started this video off with saying that this is all basic stuck, but you just made 90% of videographers better, I never knew anything about zoom, and rotation lol dang this is amazing
  • Daniel: "There's nothing groundbreaking". Me: Have seen almost all fcpx videos and didn't know you can change the "position keyframes" from smooth to linear. Tnx man!
  • I can’t stress how much I love your content. Your delivery is so simple and makes your videos super easy to follow! ❤️
  • Over the years I have come to appreciate how DS remains so true to the craft of filmmaking. Not only is he bonkers talented, but he also uses simple enhancements to clarify his footage and stand apart. Such great work, and particularly thankful that you share your insights with us. I know that you have personally impacted our young, up-and-coming YT channel. Thanks Daniel!
  • The only thing that is not true in this vid is when you told us that this footage won't blow our mind
  • @nophima
It's an art how some people can turn boring shots into THIS. Thank you for this video!
  • Dude you are one of the best teachers out there, you just got that natural, perfect blend of articulateness and calmness mixed with interest and energy. Learned, alot thanks man! keep it up
