Jordan Chiles LOSING Bronze Medal After BOMBSHELL Olympics Ruling

Jordan Chiles will have to return her bronze medal after a bombshell Olympics ruling. The gymnast won her first individual medal at the Paris Games in the floor finals, but the victory wasn't without controversy. Jordan initially placed fifth in the event before her coach, Cécile Canqueteau-Landi, filed an inquiry with the judges, claiming that the difficulty of Jordan's routine had not been taken into proper account. The judges ultimately agreed and increased Jordan's score by one tenth of a point, putting her into third place ahead of Romania's Ana Barbosu. Because Jordan performed last, Ana had already begun celebrating before the revised decision. Romania's gymnastics officials appealed to the International Gymnastics Federation, known as FIG, and the Court of Arbitration for Sport announced on Aug. 10 that Jordan's original score was being restored after the organization determined that her coach had filed the judges' inquiry four seconds outside the one-minute window.

Why is everyone dealing with the consequences of this except the JUDGES?!
  • But what about the other Romanian floor gymnast who had the second highest difficulty level and was faulted for going out of bounds, which she actually didn’t go out of bounds. To me, hers was the greatest injustice. I don’t understand why no one is talking about that ?
  • No worries, Jordan! You wear Tokyo Silver and Paris Gold, and no one can take that away from you!!! Stay proud and if you do return to Team UCLA, know that many fans will be cheering you on!!!❤❤🎉🎉❤❤
  • All the judges should be fired. They got all the scores right all of a sudden wrong.this is creating depression. We don't trust them.

This is SO unfair. The other competitors get four minutes to appeal, the last competitor only gets one minute. She was the last competitor. The fact that they even had to appeal and have an inquiry is BS too, the judges messed up, she should not be penalized.
  • excuses excuses,. The judges screwed up the floor final. The Romanian gymnasts and Jordan paid for it. It not right or fair. Both Jordan and Ana should have the bronze. What a load of baloney.

I wouldn’t give it back. They screwed up and the Olympic committee should figure out how to fix it. Four seconds really by whose watch?
  • @kellyking247
Nah this is crap. They didn’t notice it was 4 seconds over the time when they put in the inquiry? How did they notice that a week later? I call bull! Maybe they’re trying to save face for all the mistakes they made. The US Olympics Committee needs to fight back, but I doubt they will for a little black girl smh.
  • 4 seconds outside a 60 second window to report a wrong that is so crucial? Absolutely ridiculous. Some major political strings (or more) influenced this horrible decision. 😮 It is time to investigate the judges.
  • 🙋🏾‍♂️ I would have promptly put that medal on my neck, got on the plane and headed back to the states. It's mine there is no give back.
  • What a mess this year’s Olympics were. Don’t worry Jordon, we love and support you as bronze medal 🥉 winner 🙌🏼
  • So chiles should have gotten it, but due to a technicality of 4 seconds over 1 minute it doesn’t count?
  • @danielkim7841
Jordan did the higher difficulty routine. Judges made a mistake and gave her credit. Judges voted for Chiles. The 4 second rule got the judges' decision thrown out. So who deserved the bronze, not in the court of law, not in the court of arbitration, not in the court of public opinion, but in the court of the judges? Jordan deserved it!

What a mess.... I feel bad for both athletes that had to go through this. Also, why not give a bronze medal to both athletes, it's not like we've never seen this before.
  • @Seekpeace66
So technically Jordan was the winner, but 4 seconds late to appeal, took her win away.So Romania won by default.YIKES 🇺🇸
  • This Olympics was absolute crap. I can’t believe they did this to Jordan. It’s ridiculous and unacceptable. four seconds! They would not have to worry about the four seconds if they had scored her properly the first time.

This is so not fair for Jordan. The judges should definitely be fired. And I hope the Romanian coach is happy with himself for doing this to poor Jordan. I think they should both get a medal, they are both incredible. But taking it away from Jordan is worse than Ana thinking she won it for like 30 seconds. I hope Ana appreciates Jordan and supports her throughout this tough situation.
