I used to do crochet braids all the time when I initially began my 4b 4c natural hair journey. As a result of how time consuming they were at the time, I decided to stop. Instead of pinning the plait in the middle of the quadrant, you can always use the crochet needle, pull the braid through itself. No pins! Pins tend to scratch up against the scalp
