Budget 2024 | Govt Raises Tax On Capital Gains, Announces New Tax Slabs | How Are Markets Reacting?

Budget With CNBC-TV18 | Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman today announced changes to the capital gains tax structure in India. The tax on long-term capital gains (profits from selling assets held for more than two year) has been increased from 10 per cent to 12.5 per cent.

Meanwhile, in a relief to the middle class, FM Sitharaman announced changes to the new tax regime, increasing the standard deduction to Rs 75,000 from Rs 50,000.
