“Will you cry again after almost 10 years?” “Always.”

The most sad part of this scene is Snape died without knowing that Harry gets to live.
  • Harry's face of realization when he comes out of the pensive is so well acted. Just pure shock. Great acting all round.
  • “Look... at... me...” I just realised that Snape said this because he wanted Lily’s eyes to be the final thing he saw...

8 minutes. That's all it took for us to realise that we misunderstood and hated the wrong character after all this time.

When you realize the person you admired the most in your life, was only acting nice in your face, while plotting your literal demise for the "greater good" and the person you hated, was actually the guardian angel who kept you safe your entire life.

This scene and music hits way too hard now that Rickman and Gambon have passed. Incredible legends

Snape's is called heartless because his heart died away with Lily
  • “But this is touching, Severus,” said Dumbledore seriously. “Have you grown to care for the boy, after all?” “For him?” shouted Snape. “Expecto Patronum!” From the tip of his wand burst the silver doe: She landed on the office floor, bounded once across the office, and soared out of the window. Dumbledore watched her fly away, and as her silvery glow faded he turned back to Snape, and his eyes were full of tears. “After all this time?” “Always,” said Snape.

Snape is the true definition of a hero , doing the right thing for the right reason and expecting no reward or even recognition

No other actor could have played Severus Snape. Alan Rickmen is perfection

How the roles reverse in this scene are absolutely masterful. Dumbledore, supposedly Harry's fiercest guardian is actually schemed Harry's life to end all along, and Snape, former Death Eater and 2nd only to Voldemort himself in despising Harry, is stunned mouth wide open at the sinister plotting of Dumbledore over Harry's life as if it were a plaything and being the one who is showing actual concern over Harry here.

At that moment Harry realized the man he spent most of his childhood hating was actually the most loyal to him, even more than Dumbledore.

Still watching this scene after all this time? Always

3:32 I honestly cannot hold back. The fact that Snape had to breakdown while hugging Lily because she is dead is just so emotional
  • The moment at 2:39 when we see Snape's anguish and disbelief was something that genuinely broke me. I don't think I've ever had a more emotional response to a movie before.
