We put the Fith Ops perimeter alarms to test. I loaded up some shells with chili powder, glitter, fireworks, etc. just for fun. These are legal, even in the weenie state of California. Why? Because they are just noise makers. They don't have a chamber or a barrel like a firearm. These are made to set up around your campsite to scare off bears or other intruders, but not harm them.

A lot of people: someone’s gonna weaponize that Me: ankle dusters

So it'll scare the hell out of an intruder by making them think they're being shot at. And it'll scare the hell out of me by waking me as I think that I'm being shot at. Mass confusion. Brilliant.

“Used for scaring off intruders without arming them” 12 ga dragons breath: “im about to end this whole mans career”

Absolutely love this one. Thanks for making the video on it so long ago, this is one of the videos that really put our devices on the map.

The magnesium one is funny like you don't want anyone sneaking up on you while you're camping so you wake up to a bang in the night and run outside to see what it is and everything is on fire ...
  • @brianscott2089
Little bit of pyrotechnic advice: magnesium usually needs a priming powder on it, because it's very hard to ignite most of the time, unless it is in a very fine powder. Usually contains a black powder base with a binder so that when the charge ignites, each piece of magnesium gets lit by it's own black powder.

Ah, nothing is a better rat trap than a 12 gauge round.

I have four of these (the 12 Gauge flavor). They work great. I also got a five - pack of OC Pepper gas shells for it. Not sure how those'll work out yet, but the 12 Gauge blanks work great.

Has anyone loaded dragon breath in one of those? Asking for a friend

“ and there legal in California believe it or not” 😂 now that is humor I put this up two years ago, and people in the comments are being lunatics. It’s not a funny comment, and the grammar is horrendous, but will you people in the comments shut up.

I made a small pin from a brass welding rod and found it slides out more easily. It was simple and easy with needle-nose pliers to bend a circle ring into one end for tying to the fishing line.

I pranked a friend of mine by setting up the trip wire on my front porch. He tripped it and POW! Scared the hell out of him! It was pretty hilarious. I got it on video. He was pretty pissed off though. Because he was in my porch the echo effect was really loud! I felt bad....but it was really funny! Thanks Fith Ops!

A hunter is going to wonder why the bears have glitter all over them.
  • @mikerossscuba
Wow. Thanks for performing all the variations with these devices and the Orion flare gun in your other video. I always wondered how these would work - or not work - and the inherent hazards of each setup. VERY instructional!

So this is what is used against porch parcel thieves.

Mousetrap and primers works we used to use for airsoft 15years ago. Also used to make presseure plate mines with firecrackers and model rocket triggers. Zip tie the saftey then the key when pressed will set off the rocket igniter. Worked well buried with a board over and camouflaged on a trail
  • I have 8 of these in the primer version , when I first got them i set up trip wires before my sons familys came for dinner , all 3 of my sons are Marines or former Marines and my eldest spotted the cheap fishing line i used and disarmed the first pair so it was very anti climatic for me , as payback my sons spread vasaline on my windshield & when I turned on the wipers the grease turned white where I had to immediately pull over and call a tow truck .
  • Imagine you forget about where the tripwire was and then you accidentally step on the tripwire
  • It would be interesting to see what one of those shells would do with simple flour, once dispersed it is quite explosive, but would the actual powder flame still be there to ignite it?
