Transforming a Neglected Kitchen for a Widow Battling Depression #mentalhealth #cleaningmotivation

Published 2024-05-19
Nancy lost her husband nine years ago and has been chronically depressed ever since and struggles with lack of motivation. She has also had shoulder surgery recently which has just made matters worse. Her kitchen has been an overwhelming task for her and she needed a reset. In this video, I will be washing a lot of dishes, clearing out drawers and cupboards and reorganizing the contents.

Bonnie please don't compare yourself to others! There's no need to apologize and the people who can understand your words with the kind intent they were meant with, are the people here who stay to come back and watch you! We could all learn tremendously from your kind heart and selfless acts that you share. I promise that your work is not going without recognition and support, it is truly invaluable what you do Bonnie! The mental health awareness that you spread is also so important to so many people and to the amazing community you've built on yt. You're making a kinder world and one that sees people through less judgement.

As an 8 year widow from a 42 year marriage, who uses her warming drawer to hold all my lids; the grieving depression is real. The excess of kitchen essentials is because she moved out of her home and had to downsize into the apartment. Loosing her home after loosing her husband is alot to bare. So many others advised me to move from my home, but I'm glad I stayed put. I hope your client finds a therapist and starts to find some peace. Helping her clear her space will help her clear her mind.

Bonnie please don't apologize for sharing your emotions. People who follow you on YouTube do so not only for the cleaning, but also for the person you are.

One thing I realized after my husband died, I had too much unused stuff. As a Senior, I slowly purged my kitchen, I only have three fry pans, wasn't using my crock pot, thank goodness I had a friend to help me and take things to a thrift store.

I love how real you are! Tears, gagging and all 😂 Great job Bonnie!
  • There are now many free cleaning channels. Every one has a specialty. Yours is organizing. And you have an honest heart. For me, I really liked this episode because you did everything yourself, no helpers. Wising you many, many more subscribers ❤

Remember Bonnie - part of Mack’s allure is he is a 6’4 man who cleans - you are a tiny little thing who also helps people - though she is tiny she is fierce- Shakespeare- also don’t underestimate how far you have come

I'm so glad you haven't quit youtube. I love your channel! I hope people understand how important it is to watch the ads during your video, so that you're making money and can continue.

Oh Bonny. 😭 Thank you so much for allowing yourself to be vulnerable here. Your message about making someone else feel special is SO important. If you touched one person today with your wisdom (you did) there are endless ripple-effects of joy you are responsible for.

Bonnie you need to know you are a great person with amazing intentions! You never need to apologize for being your authentic self. I know sometimes the bad comments can be the loudest. Just know the rest of us are here cheering you on!!!!!❤❤❤

Thank you for sharing your high school story. I was that way in middle school. All it takes is one positive event to understand and believe in your self worth.
  • Ahhh! There’s nothing better than enjoying a hot cup of coffee and the sights and sounds of Bonnie scraping and scouring! Why is that? I love what you do and your clients are so fortunate to have such a lovely caring person helping them thru difficult times.
  • @phyllisdaum1213
I firmly believe that the measure of success and accomplishment is not where you are but how far you have come.

We are always so hard on ourselves. What I see & hear is a caring, understanding young woman with a great husband & kids, a close family, lovely house & the intelligence to figure out youtube! Everything is relative. We need that reminder once in a while. Mac has been doing this a while plus he has his son helping him. You are right. We can’t compare ourselves to others but I guess it’s in our nature to do so. Stay well! And do what’s good for you.
  • @mamat1213
My life changed with I got rid of 75% of my dishes…and I’m in a family of 3 but I swear by having 2 dishes per person. Everyone washes their own! Even when all are dirty it doesn’t cover the counter
  • You are so right...treating one another with compassion and empathy will always be what resonates...not the superficial stuff. Be the best you...that's all you can do. Take care!🎉🎉🎉
  • @ThKiwi
I’ve had the conversation with my husband about the amount of dishes we should have on multiple occasions. 😂 He thinks we should have considerably more than we do so we don’t have to do dishes as often, I like that we’re forced to do dishes daily to keep up and that there are never more than about a day’s worth to wash.

I'm sorry to hear about this situation. Nancy must have loved her husband a great deal if losing him causes her to be depressed. I hope the clean home will at least ease her burden a little and give her some space. Thank you for helping her. <3
  • @Corvidae65
Please don't apologize for going "off the rail". I appreciate everyone keeping things real. You and Mack are different people and you explain things well. Keep up the great work. We love you! Audra

I love it when you clean and organize for someone in need. This one is quite a puzzle as she owns so much. Time for her to lighten the load.
