I think everyone agrees that we need an old gotei 13 in their prime arc even if its a filler i would pay to wach it

We need a series that looks into these guys and their rule over Soul Society. Yes it will be a blood soaked abattoir but still the potential is just too strong. Yhwach deriding and comparing current Gotei 13 to them is both telling yet ironic. On one hand Yhwach admires brute force and the strong but again this version of Gotei 13 was his first downfall.

Kubo's 100% the type to flex on us with art.....then do nothing with it.

Remember, Yuha had also revealed that back then, the squads weren't really squads, The Gotei was just 13 ruthless killers as their own divisions literally, meaning a division was just the captain and no other seats or vice captains, etc.

Regarding Unohana - The Scar in the flash back was an error, it has been changed in the DVD release. The first Quincy war happened before she met Kenpachi.

Squad 12 captain scares me. There is so much Kubo has created that could have it's own arc, especially the old Gotei and Hell. I truly hope he doesn't get sick of bleach and keeps entertaining us.

A couple things... the OG Goteii weren't necessarily stronger than the current ones, just far more ruthless and willing to sacrifice anything in order to get things done. They weren't going to let themselves get put on the back foot just because some weaklings got hurt and/or killed, unlike the modern guys. Look at Shunsui getting shot because he was distracted by Yamamoto's death... none of the OG would let something like that phase them. Secondly, the Quincy at the time didn't have access to Volstandig and likely didn't have Schrifts. Yhwach and the surviving Quincies came up with these techniques to give them an advantage they didn't have in the first war. So, the success of the first war vs the failure of the second isn't really really reflective of the strength of the respective Goteii eras.

Erm actually Unohana first met kenpachi after the quincy war. The scar on Unohana was a mistake and was later corrected with the blu-ray release.

Old Gotei 13 want all the smoke 💯

When ywach stole Yamamoto's bankai he said that he can bring back Yamamoto's allies. And only people that were killed by Yamamoto's flames can be brought back. Maybe Yamamoto killed some of the original gotei members

To be fair, Isshin was Matsumoto's original Captain. Which, if you went by that theory of Danjiro being the Shiba Ancestor, might have some added plausibility.

Old Man Yamamoto should have kept somewhat of that attitude 1k after, the Gotei 13 gave chills at the first season but eventually looked as people who lost too much of their old chill that said, most still wanted to kill Ichigo until until he proved himself to be both useful as well a great companion so that outweighed the need to slay him.

I need to see the old gotei 13, Kubo has the designs ready, like I need to see these old captains and how they fight, it might even flesh out some of the history of the entire soul society.

Just cuz Katori is using her shikai doesn’t mean she’s the weakest… it could be that her Zanapakuto could very well just be a permanent Shikai release like Ichigo and Hitsuguya
