The other versions of this on YouTube were under 1080p, or had low bitrate, or terrible audio. This routine deserves better :)

Shows up, dances to the Spice Girls, turns men into balloons, refuses to elaborate, leaves through the floor. Absolute chad

"Yeah this wasn't in the script, Neil just showed up and started doing that."
  • @NathanJasper
Neil Patrick Harris being an unhinged villain is still Neil Patrick Harris
  • @skinnydude9118
Neil Patrick Harris is having the time of his life dancing to Spice Girls. Whoever came up with this idea of an entrance, they aren't paid enough.

“there is order, there is chaos, and there is play.” genuinely one of the hardest lines to ever come out of Doctor Who. the implications are incredible and deep. RTD is great at using throwaway lines to paint a cosmic picture. also: “what happened to them?” “they’re dead. i’m sorry.” he just immediately accepts that there’s nothing he can do. this villain is fucking scary man.

Only Neil Patrick Harris could play a villain who does a full dance number just to intimidate his enemies.
  • @dellapj
FourTen giving that dour “they’re dead, I’m sorry” in the middle of the number is just peak RTD Who.
  • I absolutely adore the "I'm so done with this shit" expression on 14's face when the Toymaker arrives. Bear in mind that earlier within the same in-universe week, 13 had been subjected to a dance routine set to Boney M's Rasputin, courtesy of The Master. EDIT: According to a recently released excerpt of the officially licensed novelization of "The Giggle" (written by James Goss and due for release in January of 2024, alongside novelizations of the other two 60th Anniversary Specials), the 14th Doctor's adventures - from the moment he comes into being at the end of "The Power Of The Doctor", to the comic strip story "Liberation Of The Daleks" (which covers the first hour of his life, prior to the 2023 Children In Need minisode), and right on through to the end of "The Giggle" - span a grand total of 15 hours from his perspective. That just makes this whole scene even funnier. EDIT #2: Just wanted to say thanks for the likes. I've never received so many on a comment before.

The fact that the Toymaker points to where he appears next makes me wonder if he planned out the entire routine. Or maybe it's all just part of his cosmic power lmao

I love how this scene perfectly straddles the line between hilarious and horrifying.
  • @Mezchano
Toymaker coming in there, doesn't say a word, does a number and then leaves without explanation... unhinged and based villiany.
  • @3dudes1joystick
first the master now the toymaker. i now declare every main villain needs a deranged buss down every season
  • @DmonHiro
As funny and quirky as this is, from their perspective it's terrifying. There's nothing you can do to stop him except risk a fate worse then death against him.
  • @Gold6240
This scene is hilarious but also chilling in the sense that while yes, the Toymaker looks ridiculous and wacky, the Doctor and his friends are powerless against him. They can only wait and see what will happen, with no way to save themselves, and that's terrifying.
  • Imagine filling out the death certificate for the guards turned into balls. Cause of death: killed by Spice girls musical number and transformation into bouncy ball
  • The horn at the end is what got me, lmao. He absolutely humiliated UNIT while dancing to Spice Girls, absolute legend
  • It's crazy that none of this was scripted. Neil Patrick Harris just broke into the studio while filming this scene. Gonna miss those two soldier extras though... May their souls rest
  • @SimsinWonderland
I love that there's no reason for this. The Toymaker is just absolutely f-ing with them because he can haha. Also NPH clearly LOVED THIS.

RTD: I will give David Tennant every possible avenue to play The Doctor whenever possible. David Tennant: I accept.
