Before becoming the Witness, one member of the Precursor species didn’t want to forget their friend. A friend who disagreed with the choice to merge their species into one being in pursuit of the Final Shape. This character fled and may still be out there. Today we discuss this deep connection between the characters and a possible link to victory in this saga’s conclusion.

This character is also the one that sent out the noesis beacons. Please read the entry from the perspective of this precursor (noesis) while inside the traveler, think of sol as the outpost.

I like the idea that the two friends had two differing ideas of the final shape, and those two different paths created the witness and the traveller. Maybe one merged the entire race into one being for the witness, but the transformation is incomplete without everyone. The other friend merged with the traveller. Maybe the traveller was literally just a gardening machine until the friend merged himself with it. Now the witness is chasing down his old friend to try and separate him from the machine so they can merge and form the final shape
  • this is the first time a collectors editions lore book has intrigued me this much
  • it would be pretty cool if we defeat the witness by separating all of its consciousness rather than killing it i mean, the witness symbolizes the ultimate destruction of all things, so defeating it by bringing back to life all the creatures that gave it form sounds fitting
  • I believe that character is in the Traveler. That's why it left their home world. And they are not chasing the traveler but that character in the Traveler.

What if the ghosts are the precursors that didn't want to be come the witness. Kinda smooth brained, but what if the witness isn't using the light to communicate through the ghost. Ghosts would say they used to be all apart of 1 being, we always thought that being was the traveler what if that being was the witness. My theory is when the traveler sacrificed it self during the first collapse it ripped the souls that didn't originally want to be apart of the witness out and put them into the ghosts, that would kind of explain why the black fleet left the system, the witness was retreating and injured so it had to rest i geuss and now when the witness talks through the ghost it is just using a past link it had to that ghost and almost trying to reubsorb it I guess

A precursor guardian hangin out inside the Traveller would be awesome.
  • Ngl, I remember awhile back theorizing that there was one person from the precursors that didn't merge with the others to become the Witness and instead became some kind of disciple for the Traveler and took on its other name, the Gardener. It was meant to be more like Aksula-1's version of the Gardener lol, anyway great video as always :D

I remember when I first started playing destiny back when the preview/demo started and I was like “who is that character from” and now when I started playing destiny 2 again I’m still like “who is that character from”

W video The lore is getting better and better
  • Here's a question....could RS be the one who seeded Earth, and possibly used dna from themselves and/or from the precursor race in a final attempt to produce a solution to counter the witness. And that was why the traveller didn't leave but fought to protect it both at the collapse and current situation. Could that also be why the witness has so much enmity towards the human race? Definitely something to think about.
  • Though, now I think on it some more, finding RS might help to draw out HN from the 'Consensus' of the Witness, and thus provide a possible means/method to defeating the Witness.
  • I wonder if the escaped precursor is the white ghostly lady that appears in the first destiny video where the astronauts first encounter the traveler? Is the witness talking to her when he opens the portal to the traveler soul/garden or wherever he went to?
  • @krishammer88
I hope 'RS' is inside "The Traveler", that's why "The Traveler" has been travelling around trying to find the right species to be it's Champions, it's Guardians to rival "The Witness" and have the army to stop "The Witness" .
  • I think in the final fight against the witness we’re gonna end up using our ghost as a weapon that connects the power of the veil and the traveler which will be capable of destabilizing the witness fusion which will allow us to damage it
  • Was thinking maybe RS be the first Speaker????? It would explain "Consensus" coïncidence
  • I have a theory; what if the K1 Artifact IS this Missing link to defeat the Witness? What if it’s attempt at understanding how it’s race merged forcibly affected the K1 Site techs? What if what we’ve been searching for is on Luna and has been since D1…?

idk how youd do it but a video on what ever foreshadowing u can find that bungie has done throughout the years would be fire and so interesting to see
