Vagus Nerve Stimulation and Mediterranean Diet for Migraine

Published 2022-12-06
Dr. Shin Beh and Alicia Wolf "The Dizzy Cook", real-life doctor and patient, discuss using vagus nerve stimulation for migraine and other symptoms like anxiety, dizziness, and vertigo.

Alicia demonstrates how she uses the gammaCore device (nVNS) daily to manage her vestibular migraine attacks.

Both discuss writing the new "Mediterranean Migraine Diet" book and how diet can be an important part of migraine management. They discuss food triggers, but also a more sustainable, long-term way of eating for overall brain health.

Bonjour, vous pourriez demander à dr Beh de publier une traduction de son livre sur la migraine vestibulaire en français. Ce serait génial pour nous merci.

Interested in your supplement regime - can’t take any Mg as it upsets my stomach so badly, doesn’t matter what type or how much. Not sure whether the B2 or ubiquinol works but don’t want to stop in case they do work. I have a great vestibular physio and have videos I watch of shopping in a supermarket and driving in a car. I missed my yoga and as you said upside down is a disaster when I’m bad but my balance is improving and I can manage around 20-130 minutes now.

Diagnosed with VM last year and found you and your recommendations whilst trawling the internet for more information. Very interested in getting this book so I’ll see if they have in the UK. Interested in the scientific evidence as my cooking ability is pretty good but still experiencing unexpected and severe migraines without any obvious trigger and don’t want to rely on meds which I’m not sure work well.

Since I think Bells palsy is also caused by an issue with one of these nerves, I wonder if the doctor thinks about such a device potentially causing it?

I know you say we should exercise but what happens if you get dizzy when you walk or do any kind of exercises? I have nystagmus as well. Can this be treated? How much does Gammacore cost and will most insurance companies pay for it? What are migraine glasses?
