The Kinect ride started back in 2009 and lasted 5 years, forced all the way up to the next generation of consoles. A major reorganization of the Xbox team happened after the departure of Don Mattrick in 2013. Kinect is no longer advertised or bundled with the console. Today in 2016, Phil Spencer is still trying to recover the Xbox brand's image.

“This wasn’t acted. She felt the need to reach down.” That’s because it was acted
  • @Ziabetus
"It's not about reinventing the wheel... it's about no wheel at all" I guess we know why it never got anywhere.
  • @Daniel-jz9td
I love how they dropped the more serious stuff like playing instruments, helping in surgeries, education/learning and physical rehabilitation in the trailers but they didn't elaborate further.

"What? My gamer score is 100% legit" "Yeah right" "Okay"
  • @Tdidthat
what? my gamerscore is 100% legit.
  • @Yurumates
I'll never stop laughing at how they pretended you could play a violin with Kinect.
  • @codywork-us7wu
The amount of people who joined COD lobbies with crying babies, barking dogs, beeping smoke detectors, and rap music blasting all at once is my soul memory of the Kinect
  • @KingKimwer
can't imagine how stupid those people felt just waving their hands around for no reason, the way that cello player really immersed herself into the role is just comedy gold
  • @dtanobo
The girl's gamerscore is about as legit as her acting.
  • @KaiUchiha15
Has anyone ever used a fucking Kinect to play the violin?
  • @alexp3997
I’m honestly surprised Microsoft didn’t get more backlash with the Kinect, they straight up committed false advertising.

Just got my PHD in surgery after 15 grueling years of studying and internship, and now I'm going to use a piece of gaming hardware that doesn't even work properly to make a life and death decisions regarding my first patient. Future is bright, with Kinect™.

"The kinect has the power to analyze movements better than the human eye....." wat
  • @qqq386
That guy Don Matrick single-handedly handed this generation to Sony
  • I have fond memories of the kinect, one time i was playing some 2d fighting game(can’t remember the name) and my dog stepped in front of the screen, the kinect picked him up and he appeared in the game, his body dealt damage to the enemies which made my family and I burst out in laughter
  • @turq1824
I will never stop laughing at how they pretended you could perform surgery, defuse a bomb, and play a symphony with Kinect.
  • @TacoFalcon
I'll never forget how mind blown this had me and thinking the future is here lmao.
  • This is probably one of the biggest lies in gaming history. They were up on that stage just bullshitting us completely.
