The fact that the Harry Potter fandom created an entire new fandom based on extremely minor characters is god tier. The writer of All The Young Dudes probably feels like a king right now. I would deadass love an entire recap video on All The Young Dudes lmao

You forgot to mention that the 'og' fancast (ATJ, Ben Barnes, Andrew Garfield, Sophie Skelton, Dane Dehaan, etc) have openly expressed their love and admiration for the marauders MULTIPLE times. Who told them about this fandom? Where did they get this information? Why are they so famous for a movie they haven't even played in? So many questions, no answers. The dedication this fandom has is honestly incredible.

when you touched on the fact that the women in the fandom aren’t really as talked about, it was completely true. as someone who writes fanfiction for this fandom…i absolutely love writing wlw fics but i’ve noticed that when i post them, they get absolutely no reads compared to my fics about mlm ships, when if i’ve put 70% more effort into it than i do with the mlm fics. sexism in this fandom is definitely NOT spoken about enough.

from someone who's incredibly active in the marauders fandom: James: sun, jock, rich, often pansexual, often desi, pureblood, sometimes depicted as having ADHD or anxiety, typically shipped with regulus or lily. Sirius: star, arrogant but secretly insecure of many things, pureblood, often french or asian, affected by his traumatic childhood and The Regulus Situation, usually gay, bi, or trans, ALWAYS shipped with remus. Remus: moon, nerd, usually gay or bi, sometimes dyslexic, halfblood, either flirty and violent or shy and quiet there is no in between, shipped with sirius almost exclusively. Peter: trying his best is most of his personality, often asexual, often plus sized, pureblood, in AU (alternate universe) fics he is usually a good friend and isn't always a rat. Lily: girl, radiates spring energy, usually either lesbian or bi, headcanoned as plus-sized, muggleborn, most commonly shipped with james or mary but occasionally with marlene, sassy and smart. Marlene: punk-badass icon, usually lesbian, shipped with dorcas or sometimes lily, usually pureblood but it changes depending on fic, jock. Mary: bi, straight, or lesbian it changes, black in fanon, muggleborn, flirty, sassy, sometimes has a previous relationship with sirius. Dorcas: usually lesbian, often has a rivals/enemies to lovers arc with marlene, black in fanon with being seen as more dark-skinned than zoe kravitz, pureblood but it varies, smart, usually incredibly sarcastic and snarky. Regulus: star, shipped with james for sunshine x grumpy arc/enemies to lovers not only as a sirius substitute, traumatized, gay or trans, usually french or asian, has problems with sirius, usually dormmates with even rosier and bart crouch jr, smart, posh and "stuck up", sarcastic, has anxiety. Evan: headcanoned as a POC, sometimes said to be pandora's brother (known as the rosier twins), usually gay or bi, pureblood, shipped with barty crouch jr (rosekiller). Barty: canon ravenclaw but often depicted as slytherin, shipped with even rosier (rosekiller), pureblood, daddy issues, usually rich and stuck up, usually gay, canon incredibly intelligent but fanon chaotic dumbass. Pandora: sometimes headcanoned as a POC, sometimes evan's sister (rosier twins), usually ravenclaw, but sometimes slytherin, blood status unknown, hippie-chick vibes, usually either sells or smokes weed, "weird girl", often aeroace, or lesbian, or bi, doesn't have many ships but sometimes is shipped with lily evans (pandalily) or sybil trelawney, close with regulus. there are other more minor characters such as emmeline vance, bejy fenwick, frank longbottom, alice prewett/fortescue/longbottom, etc.. that are mentioned sparsely in the books or have been fabricated by fanfic writers and other fans. characters that are apart of the slytherin skittles/emeralds have very little canon information so the majority of their fanon info is debated on and have many headcanons so it's hard to explain their situations. often, especially in older fics, the valkyries (usually mary, lily, and marlene but sometimes includes dorcas, pandora, and emmeline) are undermined and not given much attention/have no personality other than "pretty girl with attitude" which also makes these explanations difficult. ALSO- there is currently a fan-made series being made called The Rise of the Order (TROTO) about the marauder's lives at hogwarts during the 70s, I'm pretty sure it will be released on youtube when it's complete but I highly recommend checking it out if you're looking for more marauders content. I spent way too much time trying to put this into less than a 56-page essay and I would love to see more marauders content in the future <3 btw sorry for any typos. (other marauders fans feel free to reply and add your own hcs and fic recs because id love to hear them)
