love to sit back with a ginger ale, prop up my feet, and watch your videos!! There's just no graceful way to get off a roof!!

I love how Dave is one of the only YouTube DIY video producers that does not turn a 15 min video into 12 parts! He also like the Great Andrew Camatata does not spend the first 5 min on the video jumping around like a mad man doing self promotion. Thanks Dave and Happy New Year!

I love how straight-forward and uncomplicated you made this. You hit all the basic points of any frame structure. well done

Great video Dave! As a retired engineer, it's refreshing to see your approach and execution to such a project. Well done, and very inspiring! Your background music goes perfectly with the whole presentation. Thanks!

I'm a beginner woodworker after retiring a few short years ago. I've watched many, many DIY videos on how to put up a lean-to, so when I am ready to put one on the side of my barn, on my own, I'll be more prepared. This video is, hands down, the BEST one . The relaxed, easy going narration is so nice to listen to. After watching this video just once, I feel more confident that I will be able to successfully put up my own lean to. Thank you for your expertise and really nicely done video. Looking forward to watching more of them!

Good job on the safety tips. As someone who has fallen through a roof, 12 feet to a concrete floor (not recommended), you were spot on. I am glad I did that when I was 18. Us old guys don't bounce nearly as well!

Love this video format. Very light-hearted, yet very instructive and engaging. Glad you got it done!

Dave, I live my life in a wheelchair. Double amputee. Your ideos and Brook's videos give me time for escape. God bless both of you.

Dave. Thanks again for inspiration. I want to go out in the cold and build something now. Also learned something in this video! I’m in the 12x10 cabin ya taught me to build in 2020. 18 degrees outside nice and warm inside. Thank you again for the inspiration and memories.

I did something very similar this past summer that I am proud of. Great firewood storage as well as stuff I don’t want in the garage (splitter, oil pans, etc). Great video. Stay warm!!!

I enjoy your videos. Tip... I was in construction since early 80s and posts went to pressure treated but they were lasting too long. So construction crews started selling the concrete pitch. Now the posts last about 10 years in concrete. I've still got posts after 25 yrs.

I'm getting prepped to build my own greenhouse this Spring, so I am watching every video I can find that deals with shed construction. I like that you take your time and explain things clearly while also showing us what you mean. There are WAY too many time lapse building videos on here. I don't get anything except frustration from them.
  • Great job. (Almost) perfect timing. Nice & practical (e.g. can add the joist hangers later - without getting snow in your face. It’s always well worth watching your channel for refreshing skills & inspiration for everyday projects that make farm life a bit easier.

Being out of the "do it yourself" life for the foreseeable future I pretty much live vicariously through your videos until I can get back in it. Always enjoy it when you drop a new one. The only problem with this one was.... it was too short! Just kidding. I know it's not easy to make these things but I wanted you to know how appreciated it is when you do. Thanks again for taking us along for the ride.

Great job Dave. I've one to build on a 60' barndo this spring. It's always nice to learn from another's mistakes. I'll keep my cordless drill on my tool belt 😂
  • @BartBuzz
You sure make everything you do look easy! It's actually relaxing to watch you work. Congrats on an excellent job. Looking forward to your next video!

Would you make a video on wood stoves? Burning, temperature control, but mostly installing and everything about the care and maintenance - specifically, how to change the rope wrap surrounding the stove opening , as well as the ribbon cording that goes around a wood-stove glass window and how often to replace them. What to do if the stove glass breaks while hot and stove is a blaze, where to purchase new glass & it’s install. Maybe about safe distance from walls, wall liners, wood-stove install in an existing brick fire place and chimney liners as well as safety preps for flooring to set a woodstove on. Great if you can provide above information and “how to” for cabins or existing house. Love this lean-to video, I sent to my brothers.

Dick Proenneke would be proud watching of you. He is another Alaska Legend.
