  • Hey Sir, Spoken like a wise man. I have had quite a few garden failures myself. This has been my and my husband's first garden this spring 2024. Recently, I planted broccoli rabe, carrots, and swiss chard on the same row jammed packed side by side. That was really shortsightedness on my part. I did not see ahead. Those huge broccoli rabe plants are shading out almost all of the carrots and almost all of the swiss chard. We grew eleven watermelons that I counted, but only ate one. We did not realize the Carolina Greys were only expected to grow to the size of a honey dew melon. All but one of them had blossom end rot and/or bursted open in the dirt and the ants ate them up; while we waited for them to grow a foot long and almost a foot round. We should have done our research. We planted Rutgers tomatoes too without doing any research. They grew well on "little low to the ground" bushes. We were expecting them to turn red, but they never did! They never blushed! We kept waiting for the tomatoes to turn red, only to realize that they had been eaten through by pests. I have had a few more seeming garden failures, but I will keep them to myself for now. Thank you for sharing your garden failures turned into learning opportunities. You are entertaining as well as knowledgeable. I will keep watching because your channel is worth watching to me. Sincerely, Wanda

  • Thanks for sharing, Broke. We learn as we grow.
  • LOVE that hat, Broke! ❤ I think we’re all guilty of things on your list. It’s all a part of learning and growing from those failures. “Failures are just stepping stones to success.” 💕
  • Straight facts through and through! Make yourself a fig hedge/wall in the ground. Just imagine how BEAUTIFUL it would be to have an edible wall 😱😱😱. Thanks for sharing and stay blessed fam! -Calvin
  • That is what Growing out the box told me. Follow the plan
  • Hey Broke! No garden mistakes, just garden experiences. Overall, you are hard-headed 😂. However, I give you browny points on holding yourself accountable😊. Also, I don't experience that much dryness with my grow bags. I mulch heavily with straw. I have drip irrigation, watering my plants once a day for 35 to 40 minutes a day. And it's been in triple digits for over 3 weeks here in Cali. Thanks for sharing!😊 Lessons we all learn. 😊
  • Thanks for sharing, I’m also learning from my mistakes and from what’s not working in my garden 😮
  • We all make mistakes, learning from them is the key. Broke I speak for everyone when I say we are shocked you are hard headed. 😂😂😂
