If you didn't get the achievement for throwing the can at the security guard, you played HL2 wrong.
  • @TheHamgamer
With this, we can get a more true-to-form Halo CE remaster.
  • @niewiem2606
Did I live to see an actual remaster of UT99???
  • @-Raylight
"Mind telling us what are you doing?" "Sir, making old games great again"

I knew the original Lead Artist on Unreal Tournament. Shane Caudle would think it was wild that this was a thing. He made the most beautiful textures back in the day.

"The RTX Remix Runtime is primarily targeting DirectX 8 and 9 games with a fixed function pipeline for compatibility. Injecting the Remix runtime into other content is unlikely to work. It is important to state that even amongst DX8/9 games with fixed function pipelines, there is diversity in how they utilize certain shader techniques or handle rendering. As a result, there are crashes and unexpected rendering scenarios that require improvements to the RTX Remix Runtime for content to work perfectly."

RTX: Dust, yea? no? dust Player: Can you not make the lighting look dusty? RTX: Dust

I'm going to do this for BF2, And I don't know shit about game dev
  • @blackm4niac
This does look promising. I still want Epic Games to create a UE5 port of the original Unreal with RTX lighting and stuff though. But since they hate the franchise that put them on the map now, I doubt they will.

On another note, throwing PBR on classic games fundamentally changes the style they have, it's a nice new toy by Nvidia but I personally think it presents the risk of people overdoing it by just thinking that throwing ray tracing and PBR on classic games with some 4K textures is all Gucci. Most classic games are carefully hand painted with specific art styles in mind. Best example is your thumbnail, the moon and earth look nice but the temple has gone too soft and lost it's color and detail.
  • Ahhh, Unreal Tournament... The very 1st game that I bought for my brand spankin' new 3DFX Voodoo graphics card (top card back in the day) Brings back some fun memories

Very cool tool. If the og splinter cell games become compatible with this tool, I want to try my hand at it... I've waited long enough for SC to come back. I'll just do it myself
  • @surject
Since I play BF3 on a daily basis, I wouldn't mind to pimp those visuals a bit.
  • @Vamera930
Happy to see fans still showing Unreal99 love.
  • @webinatic216
Specular really looks wrong in UT99. Other than that it looks like fun to test own textures in a real game.
  • Love those videos about RTX REMIX. It’s an incredible tool that hopefully will keep on growing. Would love to see GTA IV being overhauled with remix
