  • Fun Fact: Wario's Woods is the only NES game to get an age rating from the ESRB.
  • @alpine1600s
My mom ordered the NES Game Atlas direct. She got a free year sub of Nintendo Power. The first issue we received had Donkey Kong Country on it AND in the rating section, it had Wario's Woods for NES. This was also one the last issues to feature the Nintendo Power Boy/mascot NESTER.

Wario's Woods is incredibly addictive once you learn the strategies to the game. I put it right up there with Tetris and Dr. Mario.
  • @Yamamanama
Mario's Time Machine looks like one of those pirate hacks.

In probably 1997 I went to toys r us to play the n64 demo machine, it was not out yet. They had copies of mega man 6 on clearance for the nes in their case. I bought one for like 15 dollars so that was the last nes game I ever purchased new and the only nes game they still had on their game cases.
  • I had the Jungle Book NES game. It's one of those "WTF am I supposed to do?" kind of game. Ultimately you're supposed to defeat all enemies in order to progress to the next level, but the manual never mentions that.
  • Watching this made me realize that I've never played the last 5 games released for the NES. I'm definitely going to try Flinstones and Wario's Woods. A video on the last 5 Sega Master System games released in North America would be interesting.

Wow, Marios Time Machine. This game reminds me of having a bad flu. I remember my mom renting this game when I was home sick from school and just feeling miserable. I had trouble playing it and just gave up after a while.
  • Great idea Erin! StarTropics 2 was released in March 94, just missing your list. However, it was the 2nd to last NES game Nintendo itself developed. I'd almost like to see videos for both lists for various consoles: The last five games developed by the console maker itself, and the last five games overall for the console.

Omg Marios Time Machine, thats my favorite game!!! Said literally no one ever.
  • @MrJimithee
Back in the days of game magazines, Marios Time Machine looked great (on paper) with all the SNES sprites. But...MAN! There was some "edutained" kids that Christmas!
  • I appreciate all the great content. These kinds of videos are fascinating. Thank you.

Loved it, those are games I've not played yet, so it's good to get to know them and you explained very well what they're all about.
  • @niXity9000
I remember seeing some of these in Nintendo Power. Even though I only had a SNES at the time, it was cool to see the older console was still going. It eventually got me interested in going back and exploring the NES library.

Its amazing to me the NES lasted so long and had quality games like Wario's Woods come put at tge very end. Best console ever
  • Great video. Between those games I had played only The Jungle Book as a kid, but after all it wasn't a very good game. I have so many nostalgic NES memories and these games were the end of this game era.
  • You really flexed your NES knowledge near the start of the video :) Great video! 😎
  • Very interesting and great idea for an upload, nice one. I still love revisiting 8/16 bit games
  • I think this is a great idea, Erin. There's so many systems to choose from too, especially if you include handhelds. People might be surprised about ones from the Intellivision, Atari, 2600, 5200, 7800, Lynx, GameBoy, GameBoyColor, ColecoVision, etc.
