The code "101097" is a reference to the release date of Fallout 1, October 10th, 1997.

Dogmeat is actually named after the dog of the same name from the 1975 post-apocalyptic film, that was a huge inspiration for Wasteland and Fallout, A Boy and His Dog.

Fun Fact: The exterior of the lab where they did the experiments on the dogs was a decommissioned train station in Brooklyn and the interior and exterior of the Super Duper Mart was a former grocery store that now gets rented out as a spirit halloween in Staten Island
