Waterford, Ireland

Published 2024-04-02
Founded by the Vikings in 914 A.D., Waterford is a seaport in southeast Ireland, and is said to be Ireland's oldest city.
The city lends its name to the largest (and some say, the most famous) crystal making factory in Ireland - Waterford Crystal, where you'll be amazed by the process of making the world-famous Waterford crystal. (Incidentally, Pat Boyce has since retired from Waterford Crystal.)
Reginald’s Tower is a historic stone structure in Waterford, which is located at the eastern end of the city quay. In the past, it was used as a mint, a prison, and a military storehouse.
There is a regular ferry service between Fishguard, in Wales and Waterford - the easiest (and cheapest??) way to travel to Ireland.
Incidentally, Pat Boyce has since retired from Waterford Crystal.
