Behind the Shakes -- stories of younger Australians with Parkinson's disease

To mark World Parkinson's Day on Friday 11 April, this video series "Behind the Shakes was created by not-for-profit Shake It Up Australia Foundation to promote awareness of Parkinson's. The first video in the series shares the inspirational story of Monica Hall who was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease at the age of 45 and has recently undergone Deep Brain Stimulation surgery to treat her condition. With the support of her sister Ally, Monica has chosen to fight her illness publicly and has raised over $20,000 for Shake it Up Australia in an effort to find a cure.

What a moving video. I have early onset Parkinson's and it had given me hope. I pray for a cure in years not decades.
  • What a beautiful video and wonderful organization. Thank you Shake it Up Australia! I’m a 46 year old Mom in America with young onset Parkinson’s.
  • What a wonderful pair of sisters with dedication to each other and a positive attitude.
