Let's be honest here, they totally changed her skin colour just to piss off fans and get a reaction so they can virtue signal against the so called "toxic fanbase" again.
  • If you look at Mindy Kaling's background: rich family, privledged background, ivy league education, no part-time jobs, handed her only jobs in Hollywood out of uni. You realise she has a lot more in common with her version of Freddy than Velma.

Drinker: "She-Hulk is rock bottom" Drinker now: "I stand corrected"
  • It’s not Velma, it’s the Mindy “I got mercilessly picked on by all the means girls in school and now I’m a spiteful and vindictive cow with issues” Kaling show.
  • You have to have a lot of hate in your heart to want to destroy something as innocent as Scooby Doo.

Let’s all give a big thank you to the men and women who put their mental health at risk by watching this dumpster fire so we don’t have to
  • @TRC98
Mindy deadass wrote herself in as the main character
  • I'll never forget the lesson that Scooby-Doo taught me, the real monsters are people that do bad things

Lets all be thankful here, Velma miraculously got people from every background to come together to hate this show together. Truly inspiring

Looking back, I was bummed that Scooby Doo wasn’t in the show, but in hindsight, that was probably a good thing… Heaven knows what they would’ve done to him in a show like this 😰

The game plan of these "modern" writers seems to be "I am going to insult you, the viewer for not wanting to drink my piss water"
  • @N7gamer1337
Velma was already intelligent and capable on her own. They didn’t need to diminish Fred’s intelligence and other characters’ roles just to make her stand out. God this is just sad.
  • Im paralysed from the waist down, after 20 years in a wheel chair I finally stood up to turn this TV show off.
  • Very insightful of you to point out how the original show taught kids that people who were very different could work together and needed each other, while this “diverse” and “progressive” update basically teaches viewers to resent (Fred & Daphne) or exploit (Norville) anyone of a different racial or social group.

“Now allow me to transport you into the horrifying nightmare that is modern entertainment!” Saddest truth ever! 😢
  • I miss the days when shows were mostly an escape from the real world and not a distasteful reminder of it
  • The main teaching of Scooby Doo remains relevant to this day: The real monsters are everyday people, like the people that made this show.

I would just love if the moment Mindy Kaling was about to walk in to pitch the script for Velma deadpool traveled back to that point to just shoot her in the head like he did Ryan Renolds in the 2nd deadpool movie when he was about to read the green lantern script, and after doing so simply saying: your welcome Hanna-Barbera! 👍

From everything I've seen about Velma, it feels like it was written by someone who hates both Scooby Doo and the intended audience for Velma itself.
