Never thought I’d see the day where missiles is in the same tier as triple splashdown

Im only a casual player and even just playing X rank (2200-2400) as a midline player has pushed me to become so much better

Poor jetpack, it’s such a well-designed special: gives you a new movement option, very skill dependent, has a lot of counterplay/interaction with opponents, etc. I think it was one of the better specials to be “broken” after it was buffed and I really wish they’d give it something to make it viable again.

This got me thinking a probably bad idea: what would a backline meta look like? Where just nobody is allowed to move.

I am praying so hard that they don't fumble this next patch, this meta has so much potential if they just tweak it in the right ways

I personally think the best splatoon3 meta was when there wasn’t one, between the inkjet meta and the cooler/zooka meta. It provided players and teams more variants but now it’s just plain bold 1 zooka 1 cooler and 2 random weapons.

Ok nintendo, it took you 3 games to fix the meta. Now can you please realize that splatoon 1 maps were the best and make better maps in the future? 😁 All jokes aside, I really love splatoon 3 compared to 1 and 2. In my opinion, pretty much its only weekness compared to its predecessors are the maps. (And the net code but we don’t talk about that)

We needed this video for quite a while, amazing video and well explained,, a lot of ppl, specially those who left comp, still has this image of Splatoon comp in their head from back when playing midline was a pain and you had to constantly deal with special bomb spam and rat shooters, and I'm constantly convincing them how satisfying it is to play midline rn

I feel like a meta where people used so many different weapons would create a very unique viewing experience for new players. Seeing other players using everything could encourage them to try lots of weapons rather than 2 or 3 to main

Loving the more positive vids! Overall this meta is really pretty good imo. Yes there are some concerns, a few things that dominate it way too much - though I love cooler as a special and what it means for the game pace, it being a requirement on teams probably isn't the best... and pencil is a fantastic weapon, but just dominates too much rn... and zooka is zooka- BUT there's so much good stuff right now too. The games FEEL good to play and watch. I would much rather be here than, say, crab stall meta. There's an emphasis on action and fighting that Splatoon has always wanted to have. It would still be great to see some bad weapons get some buffs, without nerfing the weapons that are currently good and well balanced - but I think the weapon balance is in a good state rn

My idea for how to handle Trizooka would be to double its startup lag, but give it back the 60 damage, since 53 is just a very unsatisfying number, and seems very random.

Chara, can we get a video explaining different ways to improve with different weapons? Or explaining if some abilities on your clothes improve your weapons capabilities. For example, will having a lot movement speed increase my running with a brush?

it just feels so wrong but so right seeing missiles that low on that special tier list lol
