New too the channel from Boston,Ma born & Raised so you are preaching to the choir , thank you for your posts I’m interested in frisco Dallas 😊
  • Have you done a video on The Colony yet? I visited recently and liked what I saw. Great video, as always!
  • We gonna move to Plano Texas shortly... Had a lot of fear moving to a new country... But after watching this I hope we made the right decision to move to Texas... Thank you!

Nice... My buddy I went to highschool with and hung out with in the early 2000s in North Dallas before I had to move, is a chef at the Monarch... Good to hear u enjoyed it.
  • lol smack in the butt lol love it. Texas is definitely a better fit for me based on everything you mentioned, but I don't know if I can deal with the weather. I have been in California since 2007, it's hard to give up the outdoor activities and weather.

Great video! You touched on EVERYTHING I have been thinking about when I consider moving to Texas. My aunt and cousins moved to a suburb of Dallas and they LOVE it! I am considering moving to one of the Houston suburbs and I can't wait to visit in June. I've been in Los Angeles for 42 years and I'm ready to MOVE! Trust me, nothing you mentioned scares me away. It has to be better then here :) Any new construction in Houston we should check out?
  • I concur! This past summer (my 1st ever in Texas) gave me everything I wanted when I said I moved here for the weather! 6 weeks straight of 100+ degree days every day WITH NO RAIN! I never experienced that before in my life, but I refused to complain because it beat the 15" + inches of snow and negative temps that the Northeast offered me for my whole life! It's January 11th 2023 and it's 82 degrees today in the DFW ...:elbowcough::washhands:🥰💅💁‍♀
  • Thanks for your information and its really help to decide where we can settle in US.

North Dallas felt more diverse to me than Southern California.. which I was pretty surprised

The 2 big cons for me is property taxes and weather.

You are absolutely right I moved here in 2010 and prices now 2023 are just way too high it's ridiculous, people remember Texas does not pay what NY and Cali jobs pay so if you relocate here bring your jobs with you Texas needs to give a cost of living raise if they want to sale and rent homes for these extremely high prices .I have enjoyed 13 years in Dallas but I am moving this year .My grown children will remain here in Dallas praying that they will be able to thrive and afford these prices to live, my daughter pays 1200 for 1 bedroom apt only 600 sqft , my other daughter pays 1985.00 for a small 3 bedroom apt. Mortgages are threw the roof and the high property taxes !!

Moved to texas from Southern California may 2020. We came to texas for 2 weeks, march 2020, and went to all the major cities. We really liked the Houston/Dallas suburbs, but Houston/Dallas were just to large. We narrowed it down to San Antonio/Austin. We ultimately ended up in a northern suburb of Austin. Best decision we ever made! Our quality of life has improved and like mentioned in the video, it’s central located for weekend driving trips and short and cheap flights to anywhere in the country. We used to drive to Vegas in 4 hours. We now fly to Vegas in 2 1/2 hrs. We got round trip flights for $48 in February. We got round trip flights to Miami for $89 in April. We got round trip flights to LA for $102 in august. Southern California is awesome, but for our 130k yearly income it’s not so great. We really have a comfortable financial living situation in Texas.

Moving next month to The Woodlands from suburban Boston. We have seen double digit rent increases in Boston for at least five years in a row. Average rent for a 2B/2B apartment with central A/C 30 miles out of Boston is now in the $3,000- $3,500 per month. Less than 10 miles from the city will start at $4,000. You will not find an updated 1,500 square foot single family home in move in condition in a desirable neighborhood for less than $800k to $1 million.

Thank you for the great information. Contemplating taking a job in Ft. Worth and leaving Memphis. Are there many small rentals for good prices? Looking to live cheap for a couple of years (and yes things have gotten more expensive everywhere).
