My late wife was 5ft 2.5ins (the .5 being the most important part of the measurement) and she always recalled being in a hotel in Derby one evening and going to the bar to find her way blocked by three rather large gents. Sir Viv, Joel Garner and Curtley Ambrose...being the gents they were, they stepped aside so she could be served. She had no idea who they were but did come home with a napkin signed by the three of them....

Two true greats of West Indies cricket- Viv and Richie. Both had lot of self confidence- Tons of runs for west indies. Down the order along with these, Carl Hopper added charm to that team of West Indies. Desmond Haynes & Gordon Greenidge always providing solid start.....Loved it

During my time i never had the pleasure to see viv play either live or on tv, but Richie Richardson was someone who put fear into us when ever he came to bat, because he never seem to get out, just a solid player.
