I love the sled setup for this. I'm hoping to get a good gps system this summer, and it would great to get something that can swapped between machines. Great idea man. Thanks for sharing.

Great vid Swankycat. I repurposed a Garmin Navi 5” with VW mapping before last season. It’s mounted with a RAM mount which works really well. The only problem we had is it’s very hard to make sense of it in places like Eagle River where there are so many trails cross crossing.

Thanks for the info, just ordered a used Nuvi 65 LMT for $45 off ebay. Waterproof case from amazon $15 and a sticky mount $9. Downloaded VV maps to $40. My buddy just bought an etrex 22x for over $200 with a tiny screen that he won't be mounting. He's not gonna be happy when he sees my setup lol.

Nice set up, thanks for posting this. I've been thinking about getting a cheap, used GPS for sledding/biking and I have plenty of spare GoPro mounts from various action cams from over the years that I could borrow parts from to rig it up. This would be much easier than pulling out my cell phone and opening an app map. The Ontario trail system (OFSC) has maps that can be downloaded to GPS devices too. Thanks again and looking forward to your upcoming sled videos.
  • I asked you last year about how to mount it onto a snowmobile and you directed me to one of your videos you had done in the past. Tried it and it didn't work for me, but I came up with another method using a RAM mount and arm and a ChargerCIty case for my sled. Love those RAM accessories, you should check them out.

That's a good set up. I like the gps for the snowmobile trail.

Nice “workaround” to mounting a GPS on the T7. Looking forward to the trail test!

Nice set up I did the same thing, bought the garmin dezl 7 inch with the new updated VV map,it’s routable if your near the trails like basically right next to it. Snow is coming

"Doesn't that sound nice?" Are ya sure your only 4 beers in?😆

Do you find the resolution on that good enough for the VVMapping snowmobile trails? Looks like what I want to mount on my sled. I have an old Nuvi that's small, has horrible resolution and it's really slow. I either need to replace it with something better or just ditch the GPS and mount my phone.

Well I dropped the Africa Twin today for the first time. Hit some mud covered with leaves. Lol

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! Any luck finding the turbo you were looking for?
  • Can you download gpx, kmz or kml files to it? Or have it read them from a card?
