Dead & Company was formed in 2015 when the Grateful Dead’s Mickey Hart, Bill Kreutzmann and Bob Weir joined forces with artist and musician John Mayer, Allman Brothers’ bassist Oteil Burbridge, and Fare Thee Well and RatDog keyboardist Jeff Chimenti. The result was one of the most successful touring bands of the decade. The inaugural tour kicked off in the fall of 2015 with two sold-out shows at the legendary Madison Square Garden in New York City and ended with two sold-out performances at the ‘Fabulous’ Forum in Inglewood, California.

Since then, the band has completed five tours, playing to more than 1.5 million fans, and has become a record-breaking stadium act. Dead & Company has headlined iconic stadiums across the country including Folsom Field, Autzen Stadium, Citi Field, Fenway Park and Dodger Stadium. Additionally, the band broke Wrigley Field’s all-time concert attendance record in 2017. Dead & Company’s 2018 Summer Tour ranked in the top 25 of the Top 100 Worldwide Tours and for the past two years, their Summer Tours ranked in the top 15 of the Top Global Concert Tours.

  • The chemistry between John and Jeff has really become great. Jeff is stellar considering he is now the longest tenured keyboardist that they have ever had and really is the glue keeping the band together and tight. John is a force now and I once thought this was an odd pairing of him as the guitar player but he is incredible. I always liked his prowess on the guitar but Jerry is a tough guy to follow and he has done admirably. Oteill is also an amazing musician and absolutely great on bass. The guys are still going strong.

This is actually really good.. it's not just John trying to be Jerry and sing Sugaree.. it's John's interpretation of Sugaree, entirely. What a respectable version of this great song..

Go Johnny go, I remember when he first started with Dead and Company and got all that flack. Nice to see the dead heads showing him love finally
  • Mayer has really grown as a musician since this all began. Much less flashy playing now and much more feeling. 2022 its even more apparent as he's seemed to learn to blend 'holding back' at the right moments to finding the confidence to explore new areas live and also the confidence to let loose at the right moments. Less of the 'Stevie Ray Vaughn' style. Throws down some seriously cool and unique licks. Personally I'm a big fan of this lineup. Keep it up, John! You are killing it and we love you.

John crushes it. Amazing tone and musicality. The AP tourb also pretty sweet!
  • @Trifelivin
They grew as a band ... What I heard in SF in July was lightyears beyond this version.
  • Also I think this is what John Mayer was truly made for.. this and the trio but 100 % truly this.
  • @allanbriggs807
One of the Dead's great songs - and this version is quite reasonable.
  • @mattlacey9067
I heard this on the 9th of June 2023 Chicago they killed it
