It's fall season at the cabin now and we are cooking blueberry jam, harvesting potatoes and all our other vegetables. And we take on a not so fun and super challenging new project... 😋 In other words a lot of chores have to be completed before winter will freeze the ground and hold the north in it's icy grip. We also discover another huge problem in our home on wheels...

With the help of our little son Sophie cooks Kilos of freshly harvested Blueberries. At night the northern lights dance across the sky above our cabin.

There is not much time left before the ground will be frozen solid and we have to hurry to harvest our potatoes. And also our carrots, tomatoes and everything. Has it been a good year for our little farm?

Peter also started to rebuild the whole rear end of our RV! A project way above our heads....

And one morning we wake up to the first snow falling outside the window...

This time of year I often get an intense urge to hibernate. Once all is tucked in for the winter, it is only my dogs that get me out of bed.

Ah well, old campers do tend to need to be rebuilt from time to time. It will be better by the time you're finished. Tis the time for snow to be upon us. Sophia makes a gorgeous snow bunny! Kato is becoming quite a handsome young man and a big helper.

Thank you for show us the very different scenario, of Yokon, from what we have here in Brazil, even in the coldest parts here. I love the way that Sophie take care of all family, with tenderness and charm. From what we can see, Kato has grown into a beautiful, happy and smart boy. I like yours cabin and yours jungle forest life, free and beautiful. I'll try to watch every epsodes that I can. Congratulations all.

I know how much Kato likes Berries. at least this time you had plenty left over. good to see all the vegetables that Sophie planted. The carrotts could have been a little bigger but they are sweet. the camper van rear looked rotten with damp. I know Peter will do an excellent job re-building it and putting loads of protection on the wood. have a wonderful week.

So much to unpack. So awesome to see Kato happy and learning some basic skills. It was great to see your harvest. It looks like you need more raised beds and a larger greenhouse to sustain the family. So sad to see that the RV will require so much work. You guys have had so many schoen Urlaub in that RV. I hope you can repair it. Stay warm and stay safe!

I remember when you planted everything. It’s really fun to watch you guys grow as well as your vegetables. Specially Cato. Great journey we are on. Thanks for the adventure.

Growing your own food is so gratifying isn't it? Good job and enjoy! Just a couple of ideas to maybe help improve your soil; look into composting as you have lots around you out there that you could use; most natural table scraps, flower & veggie leftovers, coffee grounds, tea bags, fallen leaves, decomposing wood, fish guts/bones, crushed seafood shells from mussels & clams, egg shells, nut shells, saw dust, if any of your neighbors raise animals or chickens inquire about getting some manure from them and dig up some worms to add to the piles as they break it all down. Due to how cold it is there you should build a couple of small bins where you get the most sun - they do not need to be large as you're not going to be needing tons of it lol build a make shift shelter to put up around them in the winter time as you will need to insulate the compost with straw and/or bags of leaves to help keep it from freezing solid as this halts decomposition - you can then add both of those to the boxes in the spring! Put decomposing tree trunks & limbs on the bottom of your garden beds then put your compost & soil mix on top of them - the wood continues to rot all summer and adds to your soil. None of this is as labor intensive as it sounds right now lol once you are set up it's easy. This year is flying by. Was it not just a week ago that I was watching your videos where you were so excited to see spring arrive??!! Ah well, winter is upon us. Enjoy what's left of the fall! Be well, stay safe and hope to see you all soon!

That's the most irritated I've seen you Peter. It looks like what you are doing to make repairs will be excellent. Sophies homemade blueberry syrup. Where can I get it and how much does it cost? 😁 Those carrots look like they were grown in Chernobyl. Who knew eating carrots could sound so sexy. Thank you. Love the channel.
