What are other ways you practically slow down? š
-
my husband the other day said, "man, I don't know what that girl on YouTube did to you but tell her I like it and keep going!" šneedless to say, I've started my slow living and decluttering journey and I'm very thankful we found you and your channel.
-
I always tell my mom that her house is not a museum. Burn the pretty candle, use the nice dinnerwear, wear the pretty clothes. We aren't here forever, so have fun now!
-
I've started doing one thing at a time - monotasking. It's changed my life. I'm so much more relaxed and I prioritise urgent and important tasks. Also completely complete everything I start rather than jumping from task to task. - life changing
-
1. Declutter - lowering your inventory - owning less, reducing so you can relax and not always think of organizing 2. Embrace āmundane choresā - opportunity for natural regulation in your day 3. Call a friend - someone you can share your thoughts with, to be seen and heard 4. Quit something - where you know you would feel a sense of release to let go of 5. Create a sleep sanctuary - a place that brings you rest 6. Daily walks - sets you back into a pace of stillness and rest 7. Meal prepping - setting aside three hours to prep your favorite recipes on Sunday or Monday 8. Sit with your kids - let your kids play and you watch what they are doing, it builds connection 9. Getting dressed everyday - you know what are your favourite clothes, so itās an enjoyable process and there is no stress 10. Make a celebration dinner (Shabbat!) - create this as an opportunity to connect with friends and family
-
Prayer time throughout the day, gratitude throughout the day also.

5:33 new here and want to compliment you in your relatability. āIf you think you have too much, you prob doā definitely š

Lovely video. I slow down every day by sitting quietly on my porch listening to nature. My children often join me in this and itās my favorite.
-
I downsized from 4800 square feet to 2400 square feet in retirement. I thought I had decluttered. Your videos have encouraged me to be ruthless. Lightening my possessions is lightening my life. Thank you.ā¤
-
Lovely video, Madi. The tip about sitting down with your children for even just 10 minutes every day resonated with me. I've heard it said SO MANY times for children, love is spelled t-i-m-e, and they don't need more stuff they need you. With love from the South. - Jess
-
Yes, decluttering is my first step too. Yesterday I donated 3 bags/boxes of stuff and it already feels so much more manageable.
-
Getting a notification that Madison grey has another video out makes your day better. I love your content Iām a minimalist and into slow living as well and you are the real deal. Thank you dear.
-
One way of slow living for me is accepting and understanding that my home sometimes will be messy and not clean, and dinner will be a simple meal of omlet/tofu with some cut vegtables and bread. I come home from work and try to give full attention to my kids while trying to be relaxed also. The house chores can wait, and understanding that made things easier for me.
-
slow living today: less stuff = less chores, less restrictive clothing so my middle doesn't hurt and its not a dread every morning, trips to the park that are low effort high reward, middle of the day naps when child naps, going to the gym because it relaxes me, wearing barefoot shoes so that my feet aren't aching at the end of the day, giving up caffeine to stop depending on a substance and social media to give myself more space and time... etc. all lil things that contribute to slower living, simpler living, peace. :]

Take action to create solutions.ā Wow. Yes this is a gem for me. And I can see how quickly and easily it is to implement. For example, I have been waiting to purchase a plant stand for one of my potted plants in backyard because our dog keeps peeing on it and itās dying. But instead of spending $40 on a heavy duty plant stand, I had the thought I could just try moving the plant to a corner of the yard the dog never goes. š¤ and fixes like that will save us so much money. Just have to think a little creatively.
-
I have been ruthlessly decluttering my home preparing to downsize as a new empty nester and have cut my work week to 3 days. Your videos inspired me to live life not just get through it. Finding those moments of peace have been awesome.
-
Your videos are so calming ā¤ I donāt have a bedroom. The living room is my bedroom as I was a single mom for many years and we could not afford a 3 bedroom so I gave my sons the 2 bedrooms. They are 20 now (twins) and still at home. I have made the living room a super peaceful place and I sleep on a Japanese futon and tatami mat that I can roll up and put away each day. Itās so comfortable to me and has helped my back pain. The little coat closet is my closet. It works because Iām super minimal and I just put a pretty coat tree in the entry for our jackets. Iām going to simply move back in with my elderly parents in a couple years when my sons are done with college and off on their own.
-
One of my favourite things to do is to sit and think š maybe gaze out of the window or round the room for a bit, it helps me get clarity of thought, prioritise whatās important, acknowledge achievements, think of things Iām grateful for or think of things to share with others, it helps me feel refreshed š„°
-
Needed this today. I've been in "overhaul" mode since the last video. To say you inspired me to declutter is an understatement. You've also inspired me to slow down. I stopped giving into "fomo" and spent a weekend just enjoying my home, neighborhood, and family. All is calm, all is right ā¤

I looove knitting! This has been my go-to activity since I was a child, when I needed to just sit down and digest life. Sometimes I make hand towels for my sister in law, sometimes I knit a blanket for a new born baby, or a sweater for one of my sons, a nephew, a cousin - in their favorite color of course āŗ
