50 Things I Quit to Simplify My Life

I’ve been simplifying my life for multiple years now, and I feel like the more I have let go of things that don’t serve me anymore, the more I’ve been able to understand myself and my priorities better, and focus on the things that actually matter.

Today I sat down, and the idea was to reflect and write 20 things I’ve quit, but then I went for a walk and they just kept coming and I decided to keep going. Some of these ended up being very practical things and some deeper things, so feel free to get some inspiration from this video, no need to quit everything I have listed 🤗

Here are 50 things I’ve quit to simplify my life.

  • For clothes just hang it all backwards at beginning of each season. When you use them and wash them put hanger back on right side. End of season go through those you haven’t turned back… saves a lot of time.

I got rid of all social media exept for youtube. Youtube helps me learn more with fixing my own vehicle or whatever needs fixed. No facebook or instagram. It is so peaceful
  • - trying to beat my PR in sports every time I exercise - chasing the next shiny object - being attached to outcome/results - trying to please everyone

Your journey towards a simplified lifestyle is truly commendable! 🌿 It's a great reminder that minimizing clutter in our lives can significantly enhance our mental clarity and overall happiness.

Good video, great topic! Here are my additions: - Quit complaining. Talking about your problems with someone and asking for an advice might help, but portraying them as a matter of your bad luck or just telling about it to 10 people wont do anything. Waste of time and emotions. - Quit eating excessive sugars. Sugar is a fuel for your brain, but dophamine is lile a drug - your brain wants more and more. I always notice how sugar deprivation affects my emotional self-control, and then it settles down after a few days of eating less sugar. Simplifies a lot of stuff (at least for me). - Quit trying to prove something to someone. You're not gonna change a person's view in an instant. Especially online lol - Quit forcing a creative output. As David Lynch said "Get a setup and just wait".

Minimalism is a journey. I stopped buying clothes, shoes and bags unless they are unusable. Even while travelling or vacationing, I stopped taking too much pictures esp. selfie or food pictures. If I do it, its for keepsake and will never be posted online. I store memories in my mind, replaying it over and over, giving me happiness. Everything u enumerated, I agree to most of it and its almost the same with my current lifestyle. #relatemuch
  • There is no such thing as multi-tasking - that is why it was so hard for you. Then when we can't accompish something we are made to feel guilty. We can do one thing at a time well, anything more than that suffers. Good on you for recognising it! I enjoyed your video very much, and can relate to many of the things you've let go of.

Last year I throw away all my letters, greeting cards and also FOTOGRAFS!!! I have saved everything from the year 1970. So I had millions of them. I can remember all those people without any pictures of them. Suddenly it was very easy to throw away everything. 😊 Thanks for your videos ❤

Such a great list! 49 really stood out to me because I worked odd hours for so many years. Every time the subject of what time I woke up was mentioned in conversation, people would tell me how they'd "love to sleep in" as if we didn't have the same 24 hours a day. I don't get extra hours because I work earlier or later than anyone else.
