In this rare, extended interview with one of our most gifted actors, Al Pacino sat down with Turner Classic Movies host Ben Mankiewicz to discuss his methods and his training at the Actors Studio, and talked about how the New York-based actors community not only shaped his craft but also revolutionized the profession, on both stage and screen. Thanks to the Actors Studio West in Los Angeles.

  • This might sound kinda depressing, but I can't imagine myself in a world without Al Pacino. I mean he isn't just my favorite actor in the world, he has been a constant presence (in the movies of course) throughout my entire life. Thanks for everything Mr. Pacino, sir. You truly are the greatest of all time.
  • My dad worked for Paramount Pictures and he told me a story of when he met Al Pacino. Al Pacino looked out for my dad. Not only that, my dad was invited by him for a Serpico anniversary and Al Pacino treated my dad like a good friend just in the first day of meeting him. A few years later Al bumped into my dad again in the studio and gave him a hug and invited him to lunch, with the condition that my dad would eat vegetables which is an inside joke between them. So not only did Al Pacino remembered my dad he gave him a hug. So whenever people ask me or my dad who the nicest guy in Hollywood is we always say Keanu Reeves and Al Pacino.

he looks and sounds amazing for being 82
  • To me Al Pacino will always be Michael Corleone, his extraordinary acting in those 3 films is engraved on my mind.

I got to see him years ago in Norfolk, Virginia and got to ask him a question. My knees literally buckled underneath me when he answered me and I had to will myself to walk back to my seat. 😅
  • He’s such a humble man. Not full of himself and his success Just love him as an artist and human being ❤
  • Al Pacino is Genius and knows so much about himself, his profession and being the artist of the emotional actor. Thank for this interview with an icon.
  • I hope he lives 100 years, I need to know that he and other artists from his generation that I look up to are still alive and well. It may sound weird, but just knowing they are still here it gives me strength 😊
  • He's one of the Greats..there will never be another one like him..He makes acting look so easy..love love love him❤️💃
  • @BozJust
Damn…I love this man! ❤😊 All due respect to DeNiro but Al was always my favorite of the two. While DeNiro often played tight lipped, tough characters, Al played a wide range of characters and each of them equally impressive. Here’s to you Al!

This legend is 82 years old yet looks about 57-58. Still sharp as a pin.
  • @CoolCoyote
Pacino and Scorsese are so giving and humble, thank god for that
  • @didipeck
So profound to hear him reflecting back on his practice and technique.
