Don't ask what Nate was doing in his deployment during the annexation of Canada.

"Your honor, my client accidently gave his side arm to his fellow soldier, and he cracked a joke which caused him to shoot at the prisoner on accident. It was all an honest mistake" [Speech Check]

In my mind, it is canonical that Nate the Rake hates synths because he thinks they're all Canadian robots.
  • Multiple squads make a platoon. Multiple platoon make a company. Multiple companies make up a battalion. Multiple battalions make up a regiment.
  • I still maintain that Nate is the Hero that the Operation Anchorage simulation was originally based upon. It's very common that war heros were/are taken out of active duty service to do speaking tours on behalf of the war effort and Nates scheduled speech and background fits the pattern.

Nate the Rake, gunning down all those unarmed Canadian children. The Head Writer really had some balls to put that into his tripel A game
  • the Vault-Tec Rep will also say that Nate's family was awarded a spot in Vault 111 due to his exemplary military service, which has lead many to believe, myself included, that Nate is the Hero of Anchorage we are simulated to be in Fallout 3's Operation Anchorage DLC

Somewhere in the game, there is also a microphone that, once activated, has Nate say “war never changes”, indicating that that was where he was supposed to give his speech.
  • It's interesting to tie both Nate and Elliot. Given that Nate was back home when we start Fallout 4, perhaps Nate had knowledge of Elliots disappearance given that he was abducted by Aliens. In fact, I wonder if the Aliens we encounter in Fallout 3 and Fallout 4 are from the very same Mothership?

I can just imagine a conversation between Nate and Elliot that leads to them being drinking buddies for life. Nate: You were cryogenically frozen for 200 years and served in the army? me too! Elliot: Yeah but did you kill any aliens when you woke up? Nate: Actually there was one outside a settlement that needed my help Elliot: Bro Nate: Bro
