The Supreme Court after hearing a batch of pleas regarding irregularities in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test – Undergraduate (NEET-UG) 2024 for over four days has concluded that a retest would not be justified. The top court observed that conducting a fresh exam would have serious consequences as it would affect more than 24 lakh students who appeared in this exam. It would disrupt the admission schedule, cascading effects on the course of medical, the CJI said. During the hearing, the CJI also concluded that the court would accept the opinion shared by IIT Delhi regarding Physics question number 19. The IIT this morning stated that option 4 is correct while option 2 is incorrect. This means around 4.22 lakh students might loose four marks.
