This is my top 6 riffs by MyChemical Romance. Why 6? because I think these are the very best off of their albums. Of course, I like all their music. Btw, this is my own opinion.
This band is very special to me, because thanks to them I wanted to become a musician since I was kid. And, as weird as it sounds, they made me like heavier music. Yup, first some core and emo stuff, and then, that lead me to the love of my life, metal music.
Making this video was actually pretty fun because I got to know what kind of gear they used at the time, tried to replicate their guitar tone and remembered how well done their songs are.
00:00 - Riff 6
00:17 - Riff 5
00:44 - Riff 4
01:12 - Riff 3
01:37 - Riff 2
02:10 - Riff 1

I do not own the rights of these songs.

listening to these riffs on their own, I would think MCR was a metalcore band
-
everybody say "thank you ray toro!"
-
I know in my insides that "Thank you for the venom" was the first place...
-
Frank coming from a punk/HC background and Ray coming from a metal background, I think it gives them this style thats unique to the band while also being very accessible and enjoyable on the ears, while also leaving space for and complimenting Gerards theatrical vocal style
-
I started listening to them because of peer influence, when emo was a thing. Now, as a musician, I appreciate and can highly praise their guitar work everytime. Frank and Rey are geniuses on making countermelody guitar lines.
-
I feel like you could just pick any 6 songs from three cheers and itd be valid. The guitar work on that album is unmatched
-
They're a sick sick band and the guitar parts are always mesmerizing to me
-
nothing can really beat the outro (dual vocals part) to Vampires Will Never Hurt You for me... something about it

I knew about this band since I was a kid but didn't ACTUALLY get into them until the 10th anniversary of The Black Parade. Since then, I've kinda realized that out of all their contemporaries, they're by far the closest to being a legitimate, traditional rock band (well, without the sex and drugs). Compared to Fall Out Boy, Panic!, All-American Rejects, and more of that scene, MCR legitimately rocked the hardest out of all of them. I'll always respect them for that.

thank you for the venom's riff is so acid
-
I love Bury me in Black. I really wish we could get a finished version of it.
-
Bury me in black and thank you for the venom is pretty heavy
