Honestly if this was just a one hour short film it would of definitely been nominated for an Oscar!
-
I’ve been watching reactors cry to this episode for 2 days. I’m sick of crying 😭 lol
-
Small detail, Franks gun - the one that Ellie takes - is a Berretta model 70, the same model that Joel gives to Ellie in the first game.

This episode hit me really, really hard. It's been a long time since an episode of any TV show has made me that emotional. The acting from Murray Bartlett and Nick Offerman is absolutely top tier. Their love story was beautiful and I love that they got to go out on their own terms - something not afforded to many in a post-apocalyptic world.
-
Bill knows how to survive, but Frank taught him how to live. The episode is a nudge that sometimes you need to get out of your comfort zone and take a chance, because that leap of faith may change your life.

A masterpiece of an episode from start to finish. The acting, the dialogue, the pacing, the music, the cinematography, perfection. I am absolutely blown away by what they have achieved in this show so far. I knew when Druckmann himself was going to be heavily involved in the adaptation that it was going to be good.... But this is on another level. Wow, just wow 😮

You have the best reaction to this MASTERPIECE. A couple reactors I follow didn't cry. I honestly have to wonder if they are human. I can't trust them anymore, LOL! This was an emotional avalanche. The performances, writing, directing, everything--genius.
-
This was probably one of the best episodes of television I've seen in a very long time. I laughed, teared up from the cuteness of Bill and Frank...and then ugly cried...Hard.
-
Murray Bartlett's acting when Frank couldn't open the bag of pills was what made me start crying, after that my eyes were waterfalls for the rest of the episode

Hey Calypso they got me with this episode. I am a grown man, why am I crying like a baby, I guess we all yearn for that satisfying complete love between two wandering souls. To see how their relationship and love grew and blossomed. --------- What great writing and directing. THis is up there with the, "Kiksuya" eposide from "Westworld". ------ Wow, let me wipe the tears one more time.
-
While I usually don't like it when they make changes to the story like this I can say that I approve of this change because the game's version of Bill just survived the apocalypse whereas this version conquered and defied the apocalypse

Thank you for taking the time to pay respects to Annie in her recent passing. What a sweet touch. 💗

Thanks for showing Annie Wersching some love before the reaction started, Aish. I loved her in "The Vampire Diaries" and have been eagerly looking forward to each of her appearances in "The Rookie" but, of course, it's much more heartbreaking that her family and friends have lost her.
-
I think this is the best single episode of television I've ever seen. NIck Offerman and Murray Bartlett better win an Emmy for this acting job. Loved the little tribute to Annie Wersching. Just another great example of how art can move all of us emotionally.

Your face was a picture you realised that Bill had spiked the wine bottle. I could actually see the penny drop. priceless❤ The episode was an experience that will live long in the memory.

The beauty of this episode is that it subverts our expectations. We've all been conditioned to fear everything, especially the familial, especially in modern storytelling, so when we encounter a story about love and trust and commitment, we don't know how to process it. This is one of the best stories ever told on film.

you can tell joel was a father the way he is trying to protect ellie by saying no to her having a gun and trying to save her from seeing the mass grave. i also enjoy the changes to the games timeline to include more story and background i think it really helps especially for those people who have not played the game.

I was just a puddle of emotions watching this episode. Equal parts devastating and beautiful - reminds me of the San Junipero episode of Black Mirror. Just a self-contained, fantastically written, phenomenally acted (Nick Offerman was perfectly cast, but Murray Bartlett kinda blew my mind, especially near the end of the episode) episode of television. And it gave us more Tess! We can never have enough Ana Torv

I was so excited for this episode because it seemed it was going to be the biggest divergence from the game because Joel never met Frank in the game but we knew from episode one that he and Tess know him. But I was not expecting this little masterpiece. SPOILERS>>>>>> Bills town had some of the most memorable moments in the game: The upside-down booby trap, your first encounter with a Bloater, compression starting the truck while under attack, the "Bye bye, Dude!" moment in the truck, and of course finding Frank's body and the note. But the point of Bill was to contrast how a serious survivalist acts compared to Joel the player. Bill will die alone and it's kind of sad and we don't really want that for Joel ultimately. It's subtle like all of Naughty Dog's storytelling but it's there on reflection. Compare to what they did in the show Bill and Frank are also there to contrast with Joel but in this case to show that a happy life could happen in the end times. Also, Bill's note basically echoes what Tess said to Joel about "save who you can save", and it's clear how they are setting up Joel's character.

Damn Aishwarya, you got me using more tissues during this reaction than the actual show. Great and emotional reaction! I subscribed to you 😉 By the way, I love the game. It's my favorite game of all time.
