The thing about this episode is Bill and Frank got a happy ending in an apocalypse which many people don't get.
  • @tastyneck
Thet Neil Druckmann tweet about "why is everyone crying? this was the happy episode" killed me. 🤣
  • The only tragic element of this story, is the number of people who can't see past their own prejudice. So many are bashing this episode. It's sad they won't allow themselves to appreciate how beautifully this was written. This was amazing. Cheers all, have a great weekend!

What made this relationship of Bill and Frank hit even harder for me is that outbreak happened in 2003. The first state didn’t legalize gay marriage until 2004, and it wouldn’t be considered legal in all states until 2015. You have here two men never imagining to find someone else like them in a broken world. Then living their lives with each other and marrying in the end considering it wasn’t made legal but they wanted their love to be eternal even after death. I could cry at how beautiful it is.
  • This was the episode that that broke me. Two middle aged men growing old, finding purpose again in a world so divided and ill-advised on tearing itself apart and actually being able to die in peace as everything crumbles around them. A tsunami of tears left me by then.

Thing I loved from this episode was just the quote, "I like you older. Older means we're still here." These were men who grew up during the AIDS epidemic, which is a lot for a guy like Frank who seems pretty open and out, even if Bill had never been with a man. There is an entire generation of gay people who were lost during that period. Folks who didn't get to grow old. In this world gay marriage never made it to the point where it was the law of the land across the US, the world fell apart 10 years too soon. But these two guys got to grow old together. Happy. Living life and leaving life on their own terms. It's a rarity and a blessing a lot of guys their age just didn't get to have. Really beautiful episode. Sucks there are so many people out there who don't see love for what it is, not a political statement, just love.

Hahaha! Flawless! Robert: "People with Celiac disease is like...", Katie: "...Fuck You Flour!" See...that's why you're the best man. It flowed SEAMLESSLY! 😆👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿

These 2 were around for 1 episode, and they already captured our hearts 😢

I’m SOO dead tho she actually went “yea I’m fine fighting a clicker for the last box of tapons” sent me
  • @lisabeethree
“How did he get that?!” “None of your business.” Love it! 😂
  • @TheGreaterDane
Bill and Frank got around 17 happy years together. That’s more than most get in a Non-apocalypse

Not gonna lie, I'm very thankful with the writers telling a deeper story of love than the game shows. Allowing their audience to be moved that much with a love story between two men makes me have a little more faith in humanity. These stories aren't really told in mainstream media like this, so I appreciate TLoU doing it. Remarkable writing for a powerful show.

People being surprised by Bill singing don't know that he was Duke Silver in a different life.

this episode made me cry so hard. i’m not ready for sam and henry’s episode…
  • In an apocalyptic world this two men found each other and fell in love, live so many years togheter and finally had a peaceful dead in a world where peace doesn't exist. It's so beautiful
  • I think the thing that got me about these reactions is that, I'm still so used to seeing all the hate we gay couples get for just being, seeing so many people who just see it as a beautiful story not "ew why shove this down our throats" is what makes me cry to the reaction video. People are people and here we can all be heart broken together over Tess and bill and frank because they are people not something different or weird. Thank you to all the reactors who are making me feel like I can actually be like them. Just people

Here's two things I liked which could be true: A nod to Joel's pre apocalypse job, construction of some sort, with his knowledge of the galvanized steel fence. A little symbolism/connection, Ellie finds the gun that Frank loaded that one night. Ellie is now the person Joel will protect like Bill protected Frank.
  • This episode absolutely had me in tears. Two men who never got to be themselves in the old world, got to live their lives in the post-apocalyptic world, and got to grow old and die together. This was such a compelling episode.

I don't cry at TV/Movies. But this broke me... I sobbed for, I don't know how long. Superbly acted, written and directed. Beautiful.
