A valve that doesn't glow made my suspicious and assume fakery was afoot? Am I right? I test my assumption - To a degree

I was just considering one of these dual overdrives and thought Wow this would be great, thinking it would have the same Valvetronx tech or tone lab stuff! Now it makes Me question everything by them. They re Vox Metal amplug headphone amplifier sounds great especially for practice but this is pure dumpster fire! Appreciate You!

Interesting bit of digging. The pedal's based on the original vibe/trem circuit found in early 60s Vox amps. While the tremolo is pretty pronounced the vibrato is subtle. I think, if you're looking for something more dynamic, you should look elsewhere. There's plenty out there, as I'm sure you know. I use one of these pedals with an AC30HH (that lacks vibrato & tremolo) and love it but I'm not looking for anything particularly extreme. I wouldn't worry too much about plastic sides. The top is solid. A plastic top (hello, Danelectro!) would be a problem for me. When I get chance I'll check if mine uses the same tube. Yours could be duff.
  • Good job! vox probably didn't do themselves any favors by putting a window with flashing lights LOL. to be fair we the consumers are partly to blame for this goofy phenomenon! I mean I can't honestly say that I have never touted the virtues of a tube product that in hindsight didn't really sound all that tube-ey.

the tube are not the best to have a powerful sound it's like 1/2 gain -dynamic that the Blackstar pedals have

As far as I'm concerned Walrus cornered the market with the Monument and Julia/Juliana; they are the main circuits that made them a major force in the market. I also can't get past some of the EQD classics, - like the Aqueduct and Grand Orbiter. There is a lot of competion oit there, but you're just not going to do much better... Vox amps? Awesome.Vox pedals? Absolute trash. Not unlike Fender in that regaurd.
