Where I live we have not been able to see a doctor since covid, we wouldn't notice if they closed all the surgeries down.

Perhaps if the GPs worked a 5 day week rather than the 3 days a week the BMA pushed through after covid then they wouldn't be in such a mess.

They have huge salaries and getting an appointment is like asking for an audience with the pope

It's almost like privatising most the GP Surgeries back in 2004 has had some "unforeseen" knock on effect. Almost like these companies are looking for profits and dividends to pay their share holders over providing a viable service

Once the 20-22% pay deal is accepted by the junior doctors!, ditch your GP and go queue up at A&E!! 🤔

Right..do what they did to the police..give them a pay rise on the condition they cannot strike in the future.

Gps dont do anything anymore could just hire a tablet to do the job same with job centres no need for humans working there just use a tablet they get paid for doing next to nothing

Their time is not just the appointment, it’s following things up, checking results, making referrals, calling patients back. 25 a day is actually quite a lot, my tax accountant earns more and doesn’t see 25 clients a day 😂

Something to pay special attention to if this goes through is the difference in how the media covers strikes under Labour vs under Tories.

Stop having more than 2 kids and none of this would happen , too many people.

Patient have to see several times before referral to any specialist. Appointments cost lot of money, and time.

Not a single person here are considering the issues GPs face. They aren’t on this astronomical wage some of you are assuming. The incredible levels of pressure and scrutiny are beyond a joke. Half of you likely working from home will never understand the time they have to spend writing notes and communicating with other departments to ensure that YOU don’t sue them for choosing a noble profession in which they save your lives. Most have work to take home, starting work at 8am and not leaving work until 8pm. Good on them for taking industrial action. Most of you will never understand the privileged lives you live due to those who train and work in the public sector.

My surgery says I can book appointment online, but whoever I go online, always says i can’t book and to call in. Or, I get a letter telling me to book appt, can’t get thru via phone. Just book appt already and il change it if not suitable date or time
  • They waste sssooo much time fluffing around. . Get the drs to diagnose patients before they die of easy diagnosis, but fail patients. I cant be bothered to argue with receptionist, or practice manager. 1 problem only at a time. 5 mins allowed. So where does the rest of the time go??????!!!!!!?????

Seeing patients is only a small part of a GPs role. Hospital referrals, running specialist clinics, continuing education, reading reports, writing letters, test results end of life care, home visits, running/administration of premises/staff team etc etc. It all takes time.
